    I believe the judging starts at 9:00. For exhibitors check-in
    is from 7:30 (I believe). You MUST check in before judging starts.

    Sherry, I am getting there between 8:00 and 8:15 and was told that
    the shows never start exactly at 9:00.

    Yes, they will have coffee!

    Never say never....

    I have been to lots of shows that started exactly at 9:00, meaning,
    at 9:00 I was sitting in the front row watching my cat being judged.
    (Birmans are always up first)

    Oh come on Sherry..... I got up at 5:15am (as usual) last Sat &
    Sun for W. Warwick..... It'll be worth it. Buy yourself a travel
    mug - a BIG one - and take your coffee with you.

     Make sure you use a carrier for Willow. We had two cats get away
    last week at the show. Jack caught one and became an instant hero!
      Nancy DC Who's very excited about Sunday's show!!

2879.6NRADM::CONGERWhat's ONE more cat????Fri Sep 22 1989 12:165

    	Nancy - of course I'd never take SQUEEK anywhere without a
    	carrier...don't know if she'll fit in it right now, tho,
    	she's turned into such a little pudge...

2879.78:00 - 8:15 is fine!IAMOK::GERRYHome is where the Cat isFri Sep 22 1989 12:416
    Look folks, check-in is from 7:30 to 8:30, that means that 8:00 to 8:15
    is just fine. Even if they do start on time, it gives you 1/2 hour to
    set up your cage and get settled in before judging.

    cin...who doesn't want to get up any earlier than she has to...yawn!

2879.8Cameras?NICLUS::MTAGFri Sep 22 1989 13:096
    Ok, one more question by me. I'm going to Sunday's show with a friend
    and she just asked me if she could bring a camera. Is this ok?

    Thanks,
    Mary (unexperienced in going to cat shows!)

2879.9just be careful out there...WR2FOR::CORDESBRO_JOset home/cat_max=infinityFri Sep 22 1989 16:3216
    It is okay to take pictures. Go ahead and bring your camera.

    Just for those of you who are spectating for the first time. If
    a cat does get loose, be sure to stand perfectly still and allow
    the owner of the cat to catch him. This is for your protection.
    There is a good chance that the cat could shred you to pieces, and
    if the cat doesn't, they owner might!!

    I am glad that Jack was viewed as a hero for catching the cat.
    It doesn't always come out that way. I once saw a spectator get
    bitten so badly that he had to be rushed to the hospital. Not only
    that, but the owner, who was obviously distressed at the situation,
    was very angry and upset at the spectator 'cause the scene caused the
    cat further distress, and made it more difficult for the cat to be caught.

    Do people mind flash pictures?
2879.11Best to ask!IAMOK::GERRYHome is where the Cat isFri Sep 22 1989 16:508
    You may want to ask if the breeders mind you taking pictures of their
    cats. In most cases, the breeders will be honored that you asked to be
    able to photograph their cat. There are, however, some cats that don't
    react favorably to flash cameras, and it could frighten them (the cats,
    I mean!).

    cin

2879.12GLINKA::GREENECat LadyFri Sep 22 1989 17:0411
    You are sort of right, Cin. My cats are okay with flash, but they
    do prefer a bit of advance notice for proper preening. I, on the
    other hand, am terrified by flash cameras.

    AND YOU SHOULD BE TOO! just wait til you see the pictures taken
    at the annual banquet...heh heh heh

    Perhaps I should ask Blue Frost to have a shredding frenzy with
    the prints?

    I think you ought to start sending those pix around to some of us
    feliners. We can keep forwarding them on to the next feliner.
    Who knows - Cindy may never catch up with them ;-)

    hmm.  I"m thinking, I'm thinking - I"m sure I"ll come up with
    something..... maybe if Lil keeps making bread on my head for
    a whole night and purrrrring in my ear for 7 hours, I'll have
    a 'real' brainstorm! Or, maybe my brains will leak out from
    the nail holes she left there last night! She WILL have her
    toes trimmed tonight BEFORE I go to bed!

    Nancy, I LIKE YOUR idea, keep 'em comin' !!
