2851.1Try Buddy DogMICLUS::MTAGTue Sep 12 1989 18:228
    Try Buddy Dog in Sudbury also. They are supposed to be a no kill
    shelter. I'm almost positive they take cats.

    I'd love another but my husband says three is enough (he has
    allergies).

2851.2Framingham Farm?MICLUS::MTAGTue Sep 12 1989 18:2512
    One more suggestion... There is a farm (or something) in Framingham in
    which the owner has a ton of stray cats. This past Spring, he had them
    all neutered through Friends of Animals and the Framingham Animal
    Shelter. I found this out from a woman who works for Friends of
    Animals. Her name is Paula Seavey and her number is 508-872-2790. If
    this man is willing to take another cat, it's a better alternative than
    a shelter. I'm sure a deposit or something will be asked for if your
    stray isn't altered.

    Good luck,
    Mary

    If money is your only concern I'd be happy to donate some money
    to help pay for his keep. Let me know where to send it.

    Also, if you still want to take him to a shelter, try Kitty Angels
    in Tyngsboro. I can't locate their number right now but its in
    other notes. I suspect that they're all still full.

    There was also a new shelter listed in Sutton Mass. Their
    number is 508  865-6525.

    Try ads in the local grocery stores and churches and vets offices.
      Good luck.

2851.5Thanks for replies so far.PROMAD::WILCOXJUDYWed Sep 13 1989 12:2016
    re 3 and 4. No money is a very small part of it. I am certainly
    willing to do my part in the feeding until the cat has a home. I am
    sharing the feeding with a neighbor. He's a big cat and a good eater,
    but my main concern is that he really wants to come inside and we have
    had a few cold days. I can't let him in nor can my neighbor because of
    our cats. He has been around our condos all summer and the time has
    come where we have to do something. I am very interested in finding
    out if the farm in Framingham that takes cats would have room for him.
    This sounds like it could be the ideal place for him. He is healthy,
    has no fleas or mites, and is neutered. I have already checked note
    2110.16 for shelters. I live in Leominster so was hoping to find a
    good one not too far away. I'm very concerned he go to a good place,
    because he is such a sweet cat.

    Thanks for all your responses. This is really great forum for solving
    problems.
2851.6CAT HAS A NEW HOMEPROMAD::WILCOXJUDYFri Sep 15 1989 13:1913
    The cat has a home as of last night! My neighbor put his picture and
    an ad in a newspaper in the town he works, and a couple came over and
    picked him up last night. My neighbor told me her husband went with
    the cat and the people to their home and, when they brought him inside,
    he got out of the box, flopped on the floor with his tail twitching
    (which he always did when he was happy), and purred. The people who
    took him are going to let my neighbors know how it is working, but it
    certainly seems like a happy ending.

    Thanks to everyone who responded, either with an interest in taking the
    cat or with help on where to take him. I really appreciate it.

    Judy
