2847.0. "Stray Momcat and Two Adorable Kittens" by SCARY::M_DAVIS (Dictated, but not read.) Mon Sep 11 1989 14:29

There is a lovely grey/black stripe shorthair female at the Humane
Society in Nashua available for adoption. In a couple of weeks, her
two kittens (gender unknown) who resemble her but have white boots will
    also be available for adoption.

They're just beautiful... I know, cuz I had to bring them there on
    Saturday.

Momcat came to the backdoor on the deck, mewed and looked a bit
beleaguered, with burrs stuck in her tail. John cut out the burrs,
taking a bit of fur as well. We fed her and put her back on the deck.

She left, and 45 minutes later, who should appear but momcat and two
tiny, adorable, big-eyed kittens. Naturally, we fed them all ...but
    we're not in a position to adopt so we called the Goffstown shelter;
they were closed. We called the Nashua shelter, and they were getting
ready to close, but would wait for us.

Please, please, please...somebody go and adopt these lovely kitties??

    thanks,
    Marge

p.s. we checked the paper and the local convenience store for owners...
They have all the town news... these cats were truly strays. The
shelter said momcat may have worms. :^(

    *sigh*

When Meg had kittens, she also had worms. My vet told me that 90% of
outdoor Momcats and their kittens have worms. It took a couple pills a
couple times a day for 2 days to eliminate the problem.

Bless you for taking them to the shelter. They deserve a good life!

Perhaps this is not true for all kinds of worms, but Little Bit's
tapeworms were cured with one pill, which had no side effects. I
believe the treatment for worms has been greatly simlified
    recently.

There are lots of different kinds of worms. If the cat has tapeworms,
the treatment is usually one Droncit for every 5 pounds of body
weight. If the cat has roundworms, coccidia, or any of the other
nasties, the treatment is more involved.

Thanks for all your replies... I had visions of the shelter putting
Momcat down because of the worms and two little adorable orphans...

    (sniff)

p.s. the little ones should be up for adoption this week sometime! :^)
    they're absolutely gorgeous...big gorgeous eyes, grey/black stripe
medium-shorthair and white boots... couldn't be cuter!!
