2789.0. "Looking for future parents. Where are you,Mom & Dad?" by SALEM::WHITEWAY () Tue Aug 22 1989 12:05

Help needed!!! ***looking for good home***

I have written here before of several litters of cats (Kittens)
that have been born out in the wild and found their way at our
doorstep. We (My wife and I) have been feeding and gaining confidence
of a few of them the last two months.

A few days ago we brought one into the house. It is a beutiful
animal. Aprox. 3-4 months old. Black with a beutiful patch of white
on the face, and tips of front paws. He (Yes- A male) needs a home.
If anyone is interested please contact me or my wife at the following.

I brought him in a few days ago, and can not believe how perfectly
adapted he is. He is a bit skiddish at first (Understandably), but
when you hold him he eats it up. Since the first nite he has slept
in bed with us. If anyone wants a loving cat, that is housebroken
and in need of a patient, loving human, please contact me.

We can not keep him. We now have three that we caught outside
ourselves, and can not possibly have another. (My allergies are
are doing wonders. HA). I want to find the right home for him as
soon as possible, so I can work on the remaining three outside.
I will not work extensively with more than one at at time because
they do need a lot of love and individual attention at the beginning.

Just a few fast pointers about him.......He uses cat litter box
on his own accord. Loves to be brushed. Clipping claws is easiest
thing in the world with him. (Just hold his paw and he flexes, and
stays till you are done) Likes to be help upside down and patted.
Loves attention, and adores sleeping with people. Gets along with
our three cats with no problem.

I guess thats all for now... Please contact me here or #'s above.
**I will also use this note to post the others as we catch and work
    with them.**

I there is anyone out there that wants a great cat, do not
hessitate calling. He is a bit skiddish at the beginning, but that
will change fast. (I know. We have three identical situations running
around the house being typical little terrors)

    Thanks Nancy.!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ps to the base note... I just want to say this. If anyone decides
to take this cat or any of the future ones, and then decides it
is not a good choice, Barb and myself are more than willing to take
them back. All I want is a good home for the poor creatures. (They
have had hard enough lives up to this point). I want to make sure
everyone knows I will not hessitate to take the cat back.....I will
work with and give whatever i can to them till I find a good home
    for them............

    thanks

Are you sure you can't ship the kitten out? Jo says she does
it all the time with her kittens.

Yeah, just what I was going to say! We need more kitties in Colorado
Springs, and I'd be willing to round up a few of the neighbors'
dogs to ship back in exchange! (8*)

I have found a great method of shipping kittens long distance.
I put an ad in the Silicon Valley notes asking for chaperones. This
    has worked twice.

Do you have a local file where you could ask for a chaperone. This
will only cost you between $30 and $50 depending on the airline.

I just sent a cat out with another Deccie to Boston about a week
ago and it worked like a charm. Cat arrived safe and sound and
    not stressed out.

2789.10help find a home...........SALEM::WHITEWAYMon Aug 28 1989 11:2712

I am still looking for a good home for the cat in the base note.
I am right now pleading with anyone who reads this note. Please!!!
Please, if you know of anyone even remotely interested in a cat,
have them contact me. He really is a great cat. He gets along great
with people, other cats (Plays and sleeps with, and cleans ours).
His disposition is great. He is very NON agressive. He loves to
    have his stomach scratched.

I have to find a *Good* home for him.... Please help.

		Me once again..............

I am still looking for a good home for this cat. The change
in him has been drastic. When we first brought him in he was skiddish.
He is part of the family now. He really is a great cat.

I just wanted to reafirm to everyone, that he is getting all
his shots, and If he reaches the age before I find a home for him,
I will be getting him fixed. If somebody out there does take him
in I will even help with the cost of fixing him, if they desire.

He gets along great with our three cats (Plays constantly with all
three), never a problem in the house. He does not scratch furniture,
totally kitty litter trained. He does not mind baths, clipping nails.
Likes the car, and does not mind the vets.

If you want (or know of anyone) a great cat, think about this one.
Contact me anytime here or home. 887-5362 home

2789.12How do I change Basenote Title?SALEM::WHITEWAYMon Oct 02 1989 11:0125

Ok! The saga continues...... The cat mentioned in the base note
is now part of our permanent family. But the story continues....

We are now working on the last two of the same litter. They
now come in the house to eat. We (Barb and myself) will be doing
all we can to insure they are as adjusted as the past four. But
    I am going to need to find homes for them..... So, as I once requested;
If anyone hears of someone wanting a cat, please let me know.....
    DTN 285-2304  Home 603-887-5363 or SALEM::WHITEWAY

One is Mostly Black, with some white spots. The other is Black
and White all over. Both are beutiful cats. If they turn out as
the past ones from the same litter, they will make great pets. I
do believe they will too. (This morning, one was on the picture
window scratching to get in.... Surprised me thoroughly.)

I will keep updating as I progress with the cats....

    Thanks.

You can change the ase note title by reading the base note and typeing
    to the notes prompt:

set note/title="this is the new title"

Note, however, that you must be on the same node as when you wrote
    posted the note.

Just an addition to reply 11?

White and black cat is a male. Weds. he is being neutered. He has
adjusted perfectly to our house. He is now playing with the other
cats, and loves to sit on our laps.

The other cat in need of a home is the black with a bit of white...
I have to say, she is a real sweetheart..... The other day I gave
all (6 of them) baths and shampooed them... She layed in the sink
filled with water and never tried to get away... after putting flea
shampoo on her I left her sitting on the counter (5 minutes) while
I started washing another. She sat there just watching the whole
thing. She loves to sleep with us at night. she crawls under the
blanket, and pushes against us during the night. This cats is
    unbelievable...
and they are still looking for homes....
