    Where is Just Cats located?

2732.2QuestionsGIAMEM::FOLEYAnne of DECUSFri Aug 04 1989 17:259
    I called Just Cats Inc to inquire about these cats, but just got
    an answering machine. I did leave my work and home numbers. Is
    there another number to call? (I don't trust answering machines.)

    If anyone can give me any advice on Predisone, it would help my
    decision.  (It's a steroid, isn't it?)

    Thanx.

    Prednisone is a steriod, I think cortisone. It is often used to
    control allergies, flea allergy dermatitis, food allergies, things
    like that. I currently have a cat on Prednisone. It is a small
    pill, and very easy to give. Joui only gets 1/4 tablet every other
    day, not too much trouble to administer.

    My brother's golden retriever is on prednisone for skin problems.
    He gets it every other day, like Joui, and has had no side effects
    at all from it.

    My dog Zowie is also on steroids, though not prednisone. She gets
    them twice a day, and also has had no side effects.

    My cats are easy to pill. If you get the flame point, and she's
    hard to pill, try wrapping it in soft cheese -- cream cheese or
    Velveeta work well.

    Siamese. Sigh. How I envy you...

    Karen.

2732.6GOOD LUCK WITH NEW BABIEMEMIT::ANKETELLMon Aug 07 1989 14:1812
    Ann!

    Congratulations on your new baby. I just picked up a cat this morning
    to deliver to someone in N.H. and Valerie from Just Cats, Inc. said you
    had called just five minutes after I put the note into the files.

    I am pleased for you and for me because if she were still available
    this a.m. I probably would have adopted her. She sounded great. Good
    luck.

    Just Cats, Inc. is located in Mansfield/Norton area very close to Great
    Woods. The shelter is run by volunteers and they are great about
    getting back to you.

    Is anyone interested in the two 6 year old ones? If so give the
    shelter a call.

2732.8China White has a HomeGIAMEM::FOLEYAnne of DECUSMon Aug 07 1989 19:2517
    Thanks, Winni. Like I always say, cat acquisition is like Irish
    birth control... what's one more?

    I brought China White home on Saturday. She settled in right away
     amid much howling, growling and hissing. If I could have translated
    it all it would have been something akin to "Tora Tora Tora" I believe.

    At any rate, my crew are all talkers so I don't think China is in
    any danger. Plus, I think she can take care of herself. She has
    been through quite a bit and seems very strong. She is *very*
    affectionate which is the best part.

    Thanks for the tip, Winni. Now it's your turn for a Siamese!!
    I'll encourage you...
