2726.0. "ORPHAN needs a home" by WEDOIT::MIDTTUN (Lisa Midttun,261-3450,NIO/N4) Wed Aug 02 1989 13:29

Is there anyone out there who can help?

Yesterday, while I was looking out my upstairs window, I saw two
children drop off a little kitten at the driveway of my new
neighbor. I ran out to catch up with them to find out what they
were doing. Apparantly, the little girl had found the kitten in
the woods, and her parents wouldn't let her keep him. (I don't
know if I was madder at the original owner for dumping him, or at
her parents for making her dump the kitty instead of finding it
a home if they couln't or wouldn't keep it!) Anyway, suffice it
to say that I now have a ORPHAN who needs a home.

I can not keep it as I already have two cats. One of my cats
probably wouldn't mind, but the other is extremely schitzo (my vet.
said she would ideally be best in a one cat household anyway- I
have to be very wary of changes to her lifestyle- I even had her
    on valium when we moved!)

In any case, the my 'houseguest' is a male kitten, who is white
with large grey patches. He's litter box trained and really needs
some love and attention. He appears to be about 10 weeks old. Too
bad he's had such an awful start in his short life! I'd really like
to find a loving home for him. Can anyone help?

By the way, I forgot to mention, other than being a little
dusty and hungry, this cat looks very healthy. His ears are
very clean and his eyes are clear and bright.

Also, I live in Groton, MA and work in Salem, NH. Please reply
to this note, send me mail, or call me at my DTN. Thanks.

Lisa you're so good to take this little one in! I'll keep
my ears open for all the kitties that need homes.

2726.3Oliver's still in need!WEDOIT::MIDTTUNLisa Midttun,261-3450,NIO/N4Mon Aug 14 1989 15:5125
Well- It's only been two weeks, but 'Oliver' still needs a home!

    An update...

It looks like he's alittle older than I originally thought- about
    4 to 4-1/2 months (he's only 8" long and about 6" tall, so he's
still a little kitty- He's very clean and litterbox trained- not
one accident! He eats just about anything, and purrs like crazy
whenever he's eating. He likes to be patted while he's chowing down,
and has sometimes sprawled around next to his food dish so he can
just hang his head over the edge while he eats!

The bad news is, one of my 'permanent' cats is not adjusting very well
to all this. She barely eating.

So, I could really use a kind-hearted new owner for him. As an
incentive, let me offer the following....

I plan to take him to the vet's on Saturday (8/19) for a check-up
and shots. So, he'll be all set for a new family!

If anyone is willing to take him, even on a trial basis, I'm sure
they'll find him to be a good pet. He seems to need lots of attention
and exercise, so a playmate of his age would probably be best.
