2569.0. "Hey, you guys, make some room!" by NZOV01::PARKINSON (Reunite Gondwannaland!) Wed Jun 14 1989 05:27

Lately, with the weather getting colder (I'm in New Zealand, remember,
winter is coming on), we've been getting a bit soft and letting
the cats sleep on the bed. Last night Kimi chose to sleep in the
dining room, but Sura was in his favourite place, between us on
    top of the duvet.

Last night Roger was rather ill, up and down half the night vomiting
(he's better now), so had a very disturbed night. As he was lying
awake, trying to get to sleep but lying very still so as not to
disturb anyone, Sura must have thought we were both asleep. Roger
became aware of a strange pressure, and urge to move over. He realised
that cunning little Sura was slowly and inexorably pressing against
us, gradually getting more and more of the bed for himself. This
explains why we sometimes wake up both on opposite edges of the
bed, with Sura sprawled luxuriously in the empty middle of the bed!
He's not even a very big cat! He sure knows how to organise the
    household for his comfort!

Trouble has done this to my hubby for the last two winters. We
just figured it was because Randy's body is warmer than mine. Maybe
she is being a pig about space after all.

    you are lucky that you are only getting pushed to the edge of the bed;
Argus pushes me to the very edge of the bed, then turns perpendicular and
stretches with the result of kicking me off the bed.

Well, I have a very considerate cat, Nutmeg, who lies between me
and my husband, on top of the bedspread. Sometimes, I feel stapled
to the bed. Have you ever tried moving with a fat cat sound asleep
on the bedspread. She weighs a ton. Once I didn't realize she was
there, gave a mild yank to the covers...and threw my back out!

But her most annoying habit is the snoring.... UHHHHHGGGGG!
