2339.0. "How do you Celebrate Bdays?" by WFOV11::GONCALVES () Wed Mar 29 1989 22:16

    Happy Birthday, Mijo! Our Seal Point Siamese is a year old
    today. Daddy made him his own special breakfast this morning
    complete with a birthday candle. Mijo didn't know what to
    make of it. He was much happier when the flame was put out.

    So, my question is to the Feline Noters:

    How do you celebrate your beloved furface's birthday?

    Shelly, Selina, & the birthday boy, Mijo

    Mom and Dad go out to a very fancy restauraunt to celebrate.

    Mom also makes a donation to the SPCA.

    Mom cooks up fresh Purdue Chicken Livers in Olive Oil for the Birthday
    cat.

    Mom and Dad eat a pint of Frujen Glaje ice cream.

    Mom and Dad drink a bottle of Moet.

    Birthday Cat sleeps all day and misses out on the celebration.
2339.2Mom enjoyed the day!BUSY::CIOFFIThu Mar 30 1989 12:558
    Jasper just had his 1st big day. Mom bought him two presents.
    He played with one of them till it broke (about 5 minutes). Mom
    sang happy birthday to him, and smothered him with kisses. He
    acted like Mom was nuts--so did everyone else in the house! He
    then proceeded to sleep **ALL** day. So, mom was the only one pleased
    that it was his big day!! Next year he might just get the usual
    good morning kisses!

    Black Thunder just celebrated her 1st birthday a few weeks ago.

    She also didn't know what to make of it either. She did love the
    catnip thou.

    She takes all the hugs and kisses that you give her so she was
    estatic about them.

    Maggie celebrates her birthday on Bastille Day. In honor of this,
    she makes it a point to learn one new French word or phrase each
    year. Her first words were poissons, poulet, et jambon -- words
    that she has never let fall out of use. Her most recent vocabulary
    addition was 'bete' ... her first birthday with Milo in residence.
    I usually broil a chicken breast filet for her.

    Milo announced that he was exactly 1 year old on our last wedding
    anniversary [Sept 14]. He didn't enjoy the champagne, although he
    insisted upon trying it. He loved the cork. He pulled the Orville
    Reddenbacher box out of the pantry when I opened the door, so I popped
    him up some and removed all the un-popped kernels. He's added popcorn
    to the list of food invented by cats, in his chronology it was first
    discovered in Florence at the height of Medici power. About a week
    later he announced that was now exactly 2 years old and politely,
    but firmly, requested that I pop him up another bag. [I may be only
    human, but I didn't just come to the city yesterday, Milo!]

    Cardigan declines to say when her birthday is. If you ask her,
    she will tell you how old she is. She doesn't like a big fuss.
    She rather lukewarm on treats. She adores wet hair [mine] and a
    warm lap [Rick's] and lying in the sunshine.

2339.5.. birthday demands.. er.. expectationsAIMHI::MCCURDYThu Mar 30 1989 17:0312
    Hmm.. well in our home, Pookie has certain expectations, her first
    choice , would be a Money tree..(no pennies please, they put marks
    in her silver lame handbag, also because none of her outfits have
    pockets.... then of course she would like a new ladder, to use
    when she goes to the ATM to make withdrawals/ deposits.. it is
    very difficult toreach the machine, when you are tiny.. she also
    enjoys the attention, toys and of course mummy singing happ b-
    day to her.. Happy, wants FOOD/TREATS..TOYS.. she loves to play..
    and she harmonizes with me when I sing to her.., she did request
    a a credit card from Dominoes Pizza, with an unlimited/ credit...
    Regards
    Kate
2339.6Pookie makes _deposits_??TOMLIN::ROMBERGKathy Romberg DTN 276-8189Fri Mar 31 1989 16:3616
re:.5
	kate,

	 I didn't expect Pookie would be the type to make *deposits*. I
     thought that was your department. Pookie's is to make the
     (frequent and large) withdrawals . Also, doesn't Pookie get a new
     credit card (designer stores only) each birthday?

	 Maybe Happy and my Josh can hit the party palaces big time some
     time. (That is if she want's a ride on Josh's Harley!) She sounds
     like a girl after his heart!

	 As far as how I celebrate J&B's birthday, they get treats, hugs
     and kisses (Joshie hates that part - yecch, _girl kisses_!!) and
     they each get a solo chorus of Happy Birthday.

2339.8Oh no I'm in trouble ....LDP::CORCORANFri Mar 31 1989 19:1215

    OH S*^T - I forgot all about Ivory's 5th birthday which was Wednesday,
    March 29th!! No wonder she wouldn't speak to me all day yesterday!!
    I'll just have to make it up to her tonight - I feel terrible, I
    never forget their birthdays!

    Usually, (like everyone else) they get tons of hugs and smooches,
    their favorite meal (which BTW is 9-Lives Prime Grill Dinner), and,
    of course, the happy birthday song.

    I better not forget Ebony's b'day on July 10th (he'll be 8) or I'll
    never hear the end of it!!

2339.9.... withdrawal do not always = depositsAIMHI::MCCURDYFri Mar 31 1989 19:3116
    .. hmm. this is true, but she does "deposit her share of happy's
    allowance money in her acct, Happy told me that Pookie said that
     it would be a good idea.. cuz Happy never seems to make it to
    the bank... she says that she gets "distracted by the pizza parlor
    signs.... toy stores etc..., Pookie has her little paws out every
    thursday when I get home..!!!!!!....and yes she does have own
    collection of credit cards... Pookies other complaint about banks
    was that they lollipops to "human midgets, and toasters etc to
    kitty parents,, she was very upset to learn that they
    did not offer "kitty treats. like shrimp, lobster, liver pate
    to her for using their services.. she has inidcated that she will
    be talking to other furfaces to get a petition signed for
    equal treatment, she has been in contact with her atty, F. Lee
    Doberman..
    Regards

2339.11Pip makes me direct deposit my check into her accountVAXWRK::SKALTSISDebTue Apr 11 1989 21:595
    Gee, I'd think that Pookie would make you do a DIRECT DEPOSIT of your
    entire salary into her account (that way you wouldn't squander it on
    needless things like food, shelter, etc.).
