2226.0. "Magnesium in the drinking water" by SWAT::COCHRANE (Scattering like light.) Tue Feb 14 1989 14:36

I wanted to put this in for those noters who may have well water.
I took two of my kitties to the vets last night for shots and because
one had a cold. While I was there I asked the vet about the cats
drinking tap water, since a water report I had seen for my well said
that the water was high in magnesium. She said that she didn't
like them to drink the tap water if it was high in magnesium, and
suggested I put them on bottled water. I never even gave water
a thought for magnesium content!! If you have well water, you might
    want to check it out.

We have 'hard' chemical treated water.....which Nippa won't
drink. She only drinks bottled water.

I've heard that Waltham water is fairly high in magnesium content, too.
Anyhow, mine all drink bottled water, too, but I've been thinking of
installing one of those reverse-osmosis filter/purifiers.

Do you definitely mean magnesium and not manganese? I wouldn't want
to drink water high in magnesium myself...
