2070.0. "They Know Me Too Well" by POOL::MURPHY (Is it Friday yet?) Thu Dec 15 1988 19:28

  "When they're good, they are lovable, but when they're bad
    		they're ....still lovable"  :-)

My two (two out of 4 isn't bad) terrorists (both have Siamese in
them too) have decided tormenting humans is what they are on this
planet for. D.P. by himself was bad enough (although I could control
him better alone), but now with Thai joining forces with him, "peace" has
been lost forever.  ;-)

The top of the refrig. is their latest exploitation. Came home from
work last night to find drain rack in sink turned upright (? don't
know how or which one did it - maybe they "assisted" each other on that
one). The drain stop was also pulled out of the drain hole and set
aside in the sink.  Have to lock up my wastebasket I keep in kitchen;
lock it in bathroom at night and during day when I'm not there. Other-
wise, Thai takes great pleasure in dumping it over and "spreading the
news" all over the place. When I scold them, however, they always
know how to get back at me - "Wait until she scoops out the litterboxes(2)
and then we'll all use them again!"  :-}

My verbal threats of "putting them up for adoption", "letting them outside
with the tough cats from next door", "go to bed without your supper", "no
tv except to watch "A.L.F." only makes them roll around on the floor with
laughter (they know me too well; just snuggle up and start purring and I
have to forgive and hug 'em).

2070.1Korat terrorists!!VIDEO::TAYLORcat lovers are a special breedThu Dec 15 1988 20:0921
    Well, at least Holly isn't the trouble maker!!!

    Cute story! I've got two terrorists too (two out of five!). They're
    the two Korats (must be something about that egyptian background).
    Last night I came home and found both of them sitting on top of
    the refrigerator. snooks (aka, P.I.T.A.) and silver both love to
    shredd paper, too. I came home a couple of times and found my bathroom
    "beautifully decorated" with a brand new roll of toiletpaper! Now
    it's time for the tree. Last year we learned our lesson! This
    year our tree is georgeous, and there are no wonderfully kitty exciting
    things on it (there are no ornaments). The only things we have
    on the tree are red bows, white dried baby's breath, and an angel
    on top. Now the only thing we have to worry about is the presents
    under the tree, to make sure that they stay wrapped! P.I.T.A. has
    already unwrapped a few of them. Well, my mother knows a few things
    she got for christmas already. Oh well, what's a mother to do?
    Just love them I guess when they look up at you with those big green
    eyes, innocent looking as can be.

2070.2There're two in every crowdPOOL::MURPHYIs it Friday yet?Fri Dec 16 1988 12:3225
    Oh, yes. Thai also likes "decorating" the bathroom with toilet tissue.
    Have to hide it as well as the box of kleenex.

    Since I knew if I put up a tree this year it would be brought down
    quickly by "Thai Bunyan", I decided not to. Instead I decorated the
    hedges out in front of my livingroom with lights, garland, and glass
    colored ornaments. The outdoor kitties from next door could care less
    about them so they stay where I put 'em.

    Be careful with the dried baby's breath on the tree, Holly. I was told
    that dried flowers could cause internal problems for cats when eaten.
    If you have one like my Holly who seems to like eating flowers & plants
    (which is why all my plants are at work), it could be harmful. My vet
    did say that the silk flowers weren't a problem as cats didn't seem to
    crave them. I do have silk flowers in a window and they've never been
    bothered by a cat.

    P.S.: Holly doesn't cause any problems for ME. She does love to tease
    	   the 3 boys though. She gets each one to chase her after teasing
    	   them and when it starts getting a little too rough for her
    	   (she's a dainty lady), she meows for my help. ;-)

2070.3Who's really in charge here?CRUISE::NDCFri Dec 16 1988 16:5914
    Bumpy-tail has trained me to put away ALL my yarn when I put
    up my knitting for the night. It is not sufficient to put the
    yarn in a bag, even if I "Twist and tuck" the top. She'll get
    into it and then she becomes the "interior decorator" placing
    skeins of yarn in exactly the right positions in the livingroom,
    dining room, on the stairs and in the upstairs and downstairs halls!.
    She usually manages to get at least one skein hooked on her collar
    (don't ask me how) and I end up getting up in the middle of the
    night to untangle her. I can tell everywhere she's been 'cause
    she leaves a trail behind her. Sort of looks like a "Family Circus"
    cartoon.
      Now Dundee is training me to pick up my belts. I discovered he'd
    been chewing on the end of one of my better belts when I put it
    on this morning!

    Trees...Aren't they just wonderful additions to their new set of
    toys???

    Thunder and DejaVu are having a *GRAND TIME* jumping over the
    packages, thru the lower branches and playing with the garland
    and decorations.

    Holly, Your tree sounds so pretty. Wish I could see it. We do
    ours all in red and white but I never thought of baby's breath.

    With my luck, Thunder would just try to dig a hole in the carpet
    to plant the *pretty flower*.

2070.5Bows are for munchingSQUEKE::WARDI'm not fat, I'm just drawn that wayFri Dec 16 1988 18:2315
    Gee, the rest of the year Trouble is such a sweetie. But Christmas
    bows are her downfall. Last year I learned she likes to chew the
    bows on the Christmas presents (this after cleaning up several times
    after they disagreed with her). It was kinda funny though, she
    would start with the red ones, so we moved all the red bowed presents
    then she went for the green, then it didn't matter. This year no
    bows on the presents until we get ready to go to my parents for
    gift giving.

    Red bows on the tree is an interesting thought, but I don't think
    I want her to learn to climb the tree. I doubt it would support
    her.
