2055.0. "Nippa has a new vet..." by FRAGLE::PELUSO () Mon Dec 12 1988 15:39

    I took Nippa to the vet Friday, and my suspicions were confirmed,
    she did have a little bug. I tried another vet and what a difference!
    She tried her usual tough guy act, and he told her he was not afraid
    of her, took her temperature, checked her out and gave her a shot
    before she knew what hwas happening....it was really quite cute
    to see this big, very gruff man playing with my cat. She is
    doing much better now, at least she isn't getting sick everywhere
    and she is dying to go out(try to tell an outdoor cat she can't
    go out!).

    He also does NOT believe in over charging....I also brought 2 horses,
    (and a horse and my cat got shots and medication for a week).....and
    I got out for a whole $50.

    The vet I saw was Dr. McGee SR. on rt 20 in Marlboro. I have heard
    a ton of horror stories regarding Dr. McGee, but I'll tell you,
    I have never felt better leaving a vet as I have when leaving his
    place.

    I'd be interested in hearing about good/bad experiences, if anyone
    else has dealt with him.

    Michele

2055.1All in favor...CURIE::SADLER_TEMPMon Dec 12 1988 18:4612
    We always went to Dr. McGee for our animals when I lived in Marlboro.
    We raised rabbits, and also had cats, dogs, and various other small
    animals. Dr. McGee has more experience than most vets in the area.
    His prices are reasonable, and he can be reached and he lives right
    on the premises of his office (in case of emergency). He is
    trustworthy and has a GENUINE way with animals. If you go to Dr.
    McGee, you don't get charged for all the miscellaneous equipment
    usage, and the dreaded_office_visit_charge.

    Just my experiences,

    Cathy

    He is our neighbor and the smoke coming from his mortuary or
    whatever they call that gas chamber makes the neighborhood
    reek.

    Everybody to their own taste. What's good for some aren't good
    for others. As long as you trust him and he gives good service
    well ..... in the long run...... that's all that matters. Right?
