1966.0. "Next year's Calendar" by BRAT::GERMANN () Mon Nov 14 1988 15:56

For some strange reason I decided to be more organized this year
and get my 1989 weekly calendar book before the first week of February.
So I went to the book store over the weekend, fully intending to
pick up the usual leather-bound, very professional looking book
that I have always carried. However, some of my more frivolous
manner must have been lurking in the subconcsious because what I
came home with is far from the usual.

"And why are you telling us this?" you may ask. Well, what I wound
up with is a bright red, white and black covered weekly engagement
calendar which is titled "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats -
    T. S. Eliot - Calendar for 1989" It is illustrated by Edward Gorey.

I can't wait to see the looks of faces in meetings next year when
we all pull out our calendars to schedule whatever and out comes
    good old T. S. Eliot!!!

There were adorable cat and kitten calendars - although I never
like the pictures that look obviously set up - like the cat in the
baby carriage with diapers, etc. But some of the pictures were
soooooooo typical. You know, the cat asleep, upside down of course,
in the big, dark blue chair -- oh the cat hairs...........

I found it at the Paperback Booksmith in the Bedford Mall in Bedford,
    NH.

On September 26, there is a drawing of a cat holding a birthday
    cake - T. S. Eliot's birthday!!
