1928.0. "MONSTEROUS_PET_STORE_:_CRITTERS WELCOME!" by CURIE::SADLER_TEMP () Mon Oct 31 1988 19:36

Went to Scottsdale, Arizona last week. THEY have grocery stores
for pets there!!! I loved it. I spent hours in it--its huge. If
you need it, they have it. Pets are allowed in there too. I saw
a woman with a poodle in her cart, a man with a double lead with
two mastiffs, a woman with a cockatiel on her shoulder, etc.

People let their animals pick out the treats, food, toys, etc.
They have every brand of food, dishes, leashes, doors, runs, crates,
show goods, grooming aids, fish tanks, medicine, beds, litterboxes,
books, cards, EVERYTHING!!!! They had a list of stores that they
owned. Most of them were in the Southwest/South areas.

I ask you: Why don't they have these stores up in the Northeast?
Have I been missing out on something good?? It seems that the demand
for such a pet store would be INCREDIBLE up here!! It could really
make someone rich in the right location.....

    Hi,

    What a BRILLIANT idea!!

Nothing like that here in the U.K. to my knowledge either
what a shame the idea hasn't caught on yet.

One disadvantage thought, my cat Dinky would proabably
choose one of everything sold in the entire shop and I
would end up spending twice as much money as I would have
if I'd left her at home....ah well, for a best furry friend
I suppose even the price of a dozen sacks of cat biscuits
    is worth it!!!

Thanks for writing this in, if I every go self-employed
    I'll bear this in mind!!

    			I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who wants to start up a business with me????

Lightning wouldn't be a problem, but I can see Thunder now!!!!!

"Ma, Ma, look!!!! I want this!!!! WOW!!!!! come see!!!!!

Actually, I think I would be nervous taking my kitties in with all
those dogs and birds around. Doesn't it get kind of `hairy'??

1928.3There is one in Colorado too!CSC32::K_WORKMANNo Dukes!Tue Nov 01 1988 18:418
They have one of these stores in DENVER Colorado Too. We have taken
my Dalmation their once, but he wanted to scent everything! I don't
think we will go back.... if you know what I mean... I'm not sure
my cats would really be up for something like this, but it's sure
fun to go and look at all the funny things peoples pets are doing
    in this TOYS-FOOD everywhere environment.

We have stores similar to this in California. They are called
"WELPET". You can bring your pets in and let them pick their own
toys. It's great if you want to try new collars etc. They even
have an obedience class on Wednesdays that you can watch... Twice
a year they have an adopt a pet day put on by a rescue league.
In fact we picked up two great cats from them last year while we
were buying supplies for the dogs....
