1884.0. "Vet Recommendations" by SKIVT::P_MARGOLIS (Paula Beth) Tue Oct 18 1988 11:01

I am moving and decided it would be best to pick up my dear furfaces'
records from my local vet. I also asked for reminders, so I would
know when they were due to see the next vet. Through this information,
I discovered the Schnapp missed her rabies vaccination. (We were
at the vet for this and several other things, but there was a
    substitute vet on that day.)

To make a long story short, I'm going to be on temporary living
in Worcester. Can someone recommend a vet close to Plantation Street?
And while we're at it, how about a recommendation for a vet near
the Millville, MA area...(Millville is just east of Uxbridge on
    the border of RI).

    Thanks much! Paula

I have not been there, but....

A friend of mine takes her cats (2 persians) to the Shrewsbury Animal
Hospital. I hear they are very good, and also offer reasonably
priced grooming. Its probably not far from Plantation either.
I'm sure they're in the phone book.

    Best of luck,

    Cathy

You could try Abbot on East Mountain St or Witt in Webster Square.

I second Shrewsbury Animal Hospital. They are very near SHR.
Get onto Rt 20E (from Worcester) and take a left at South St. (right
after the Gulf Station). Take your first right from South St.
(Chestnut St. I think, but I'm not sure). Just before you hit Rt.
9, the Animal Hospital is on your left. They take care of Fluffy,
    Bigfoot and Loki quite well.

There are several other notes in here about vets. A DIR/KEYWORD=VET
reveals the following notes (to see a list of keywords, use the SHOW

notes.) Why, look, there's a note titled "Vet in Worcester?" !

1884.5Millville/Uxbridge??SKIVT::P_MARGOLISPaula BethWed Oct 19 1988 11:0010
I made an appointment at the Abbot Animal Hospital in Shrewsbury.
$18 for the rabies shot with no office visit charge.

Still haven't found any information on the Millville/Uxbridge area
    vets. Any suggestions?

Compared to all you Massachusetts residents, I'm probably living
really far out. But Millville is the ideal location when you work
in Shrewsbury and your fiance works in Cranston, RI. ;')

I recommend Lancaster Animal Hospital. Dr. Fred Karotkin is probably
the best vet I've run across, and prices are reasonable. His partner,
Dr. Jim Early, is one of the top vet surgeons in the country.

I second the recommendation for Lancaster Animal Hospital. We bring
all of our cats there, and our dog.

Our dog was hit by a car two years ago and the damage was very bad
(we had to lift the car to get her out from under it.) We thought
she would have to be put down because we would not be able to afford
all of the surgery--to make a long story short, they put her back
together for $100. They even kept her at their office for three
months until she was healthy enough to come home.

    They are ***really wonderful*** there!
