1802.0. "The CAt Show at Framingham" by STOR06::DALEY () Tue Sep 27 1988 17:19

    I went to the Cat Show last Sunday at Keefe Tech in Framingham
    and had alot of fun thanks to Elaine, Holly and Cin - all of whom
    helped educate me on what was happening.

    I had never seen an Exotic Shorthair until Sunday when I
    saw Cin's and thought they were terrific. Also as I was
    watching the judging of Best Persian Kitten class I saw
    this adorable little puff watching every motion the judge made.
    The kitten looked like one whose photo should have been on a
    calendar and shortly afterwards this little one took first place
    in that class. It was Holly's newest (right??) addition to her
    feline family. She really deserved it.

    It was fun seeing Elaine's Zivago cats - they are beautiful.
    What also impressed me was that none of Elaine's, Cin's or
    Holly cat's were the slightest bit nervous considering how many
    hundred's of people were looking in their cages. They ALL looked
    quite relaxed.

    Roberta- I heard you were there but I think you left about the time
    I arrived. Sorry I missed you.

    Anyway, glad to have met you all - Cindy,Holly & Elaine. Thanks
    again.

1802.1Good show!EDUC8::TRACHMANE.T.'s ZhivagoCats....DTN: 264-8298Tue Sep 27 1988 17:359
    It was nice meeting you Pat. It was so crowded and rushed that
    no one had time or space to really do or say much - running with
    the kitten and the adult takes time! Mass Colony always puts
    on a great show - every year! We all got prizes in every ring
    and they do so much for household pets, it's a realy pleasure
    to show at their club!

    I remember they both had received prizes even before I got there and then
    I lost track of what happened. There was so much going on that I was
    amazed that participants were actually able to know what was going on in
    all the rings (??? terminology) but I imagine when a person continually
    shows she/he gets to know what happens when and where. Do you also
    run into the same judges at the various shows?

    I was impressed also by how well you all did and by what nice
    looking cats and kittens you have.[Can you tell that I had a good time?].
    Somewhere in the notesfile I remember there was an entry on HHP,-
    can you remember where it is? (Of course there are ONLY 1800 notes
    files from which to choose but I was just hoping maybe you might
    recall the note).

    Was that show a large one - or is that about a normal size-
    considering both participants and observers.

    I am looking forward to the next one in the area - is it in Hudson,
    MA in November.

1802.3The show was a blastFSHQA2::RWAXMANTue Sep 27 1988 18:2023
    Hi Pat,

    The next show is November 17th at Assabet Valley Regional High School
    in Marlboro. Since we missed each other last Sunday (and I SO
    wanted to meet you!), let's plan to go to the November show together
    if our schedules permit. That's right around the time my Ragdoll
    baby will be ready to leave home, but due to the Thanksgiving holiday
    and the breeder's active show schedule, I might have to wait until
    the beginning of December to get him (boo hoo).

    Elaine - I saw your cage and adorable Miss Vicki, but you weren't
    there...sorry to have missed you.

    I had a great time, and like Pat, did not understand what was going
    on in the show rings...I had more fun walking through the aisles
    and admiring all the beautiful breeds of cats. Elaine - tell your
    friend Mary that her Norweigen Forest Cats are breathtaking!

1802.4Glad a good time was had by all!EDUC8::TRACHMANE.T.'s ZhivagoCats....DTN: 264-8298Wed Sep 28 1988 12:3114
    Just a quick note - The Marlboro show is November 12th - Sunday.

    I looked for you Roberta! It was so crowded that ya couldn't
    see anyone! It was a full show, but a small show hall.
    Glad you saw & liked the girls! I hope they were polite and
    asked you to set a while & have tea!

    Pat, I'm not sure which note you mean, but if you have questions,
    just ask or send mail.

    Roberta, will you show your new baby in Champion class or as an
    alter??

1802.5I goofed!FSHQA2::RWAXMANWed Sep 28 1988 13:3016
    Sorry about the goof regarding the Marlboro show.  Elaine's right;
    it is on the 12th.

    Miss Vicki was napping when I saw her. She looked so happy and
    content like a typical show baby, knowing she was on display and
    loving every minute of it. Her coloring is beautiful.

    I would like to show my new baby at least once but not on a regular
    basis. He will definitely be altered. I am lucky because this particular
    breeder is going to sell me a show quality kitten at a pet price.
    We talk every week and I received baby pictures yesterday...what
    a living doll! He was only a little over 3 weeks when the pictures
    were taken and he is so big and fluffy. I can't wait to get him
    home. This Sunday, he will be 5 weeks old so it's not too much
    longer!

1802.6Show Him !!!EDUC8::TRACHMANE.T.'s ZhivagoCats....DTN: 264-8298Wed Sep 28 1988 14:309
    Gee, if he is show quality, why not show him in kitten class until
    you alter him, then show him as an alter??? show show show !!

    Thanks, Vicki is a very sweet baby! She behaved very well, but
    was a little overwhelmed by the whole thing, it being her first
    show! I thought she would tear up the judging table and be silly,
    but she was wonderful.
