1743.0. "VETERINARIAN NEEDED IN BOYLSTON AREA" by LDP::CORCORAN () Wed Sep 07 1988 14:19

    I've looked all through the conference for veterinarian suggestions,
    but still have yet to find one in the Boylston/Northboro/Shrewsbury
    area.

    I moved to Boylston from Watertown a couple months ago and it's
    time for the kids yearly checkup and shots.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

1743.1NVC are Good...SUCCES::PEAKEWed Sep 07 1988 16:5017
    Hi! I live in Boylston, and my two kids, Pounce and Nutmeg,
    regularly visit the Northboro Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Fleishmann
    being the owner. They are very professional, and treat your
    cats like they were their own. In fact, Pounce and Nutmeg
    are on a first name basis there. I used them to board my cats
    whenever I went on vacation, and came back to a fatter cat
    that picked up somebody else's meow -- (I know that one time
    they were next to a siamese...and Nutmeg's meow changed for a
    couple of weeks.)

    I have been very satisfied with the services there. They are located
    on Main Street, about 2-3 miles down for the Northboro town center,
    sort of across from the Post Office, and near the Dew Drop Inn.

    Hope this helps, and good luck!

1743.2THANKS!LDP::CORCORANThu Sep 08 1988 14:2511
    Lynn, thanks a lot for the information.

    Tell me something - what does is cost to board 2 cats NVC for 2
    weeks? I may need this service next year while I'm on my honeymoon.

    Again, thanks.

    You might want to consider cat sitting service, re. 400.36.

1743.4NVC as babysittersSUCCES::PEAKEThu Sep 08 1988 17:0526
    re .2

    The last time I used them, they were $5.00 per day, per cat. That
    sounds high to me, and it probably is. I haven't boarded my cats
    that last couple of times I've gone away, because a little girl
    across the street happens to have a crush on Pounce (and of course,
    Pounce likes her a lot too...), so I get her to babysit (with the
    help of her mother) in return for free piano lessons. This arrangement
    is working out very good.

    Only problem was the last time I was away for 10 days
    my cats tore the entire house up. The babysitters were shocked,
    just horrified at the destruction. They broke several of their
    toys, including their crab, in 5 pieces.

    Getting back to the NVC, I liked the idea of having the Vets take
    care of them in case of an emergency. They have a nice play room
    in the back that they let the boarders out separately to stretch
    and investigate. They even had my Nutmeg out in the lobby, and
    she tore open a bag of food and started eating it. She was purring
    and very happy when I returned. They took good care of her. You
    may want to call them to see if their rates have increased. They
    like a couple of weeks notice if you plan to board your cats with
    them. Their number is 393-8339.
