1701.0. "Despertately seeking a home before dooms day!" by IAMOK::HTAYLOR (Me and my lil' pots o' purrs!) Fri Aug 26 1988 13:05

    My sister told me about this beautiful kitty that desperately needs
    a home. She is a purebred Russian Blue (Yes Penny, a Russian).
    She is spayed and an indoor only cat. She needs to find a home
    desperately by the end of the month. Her owners are moving and
    despite all of my pleading, if they don't find a home for her by
    the end of the month, she is going to be put to sleep. PLEASE!!!
    Help me help this kitty! If anything, provide a foster home until
    a permanent home can be found!

    OOPS! I forgot one important thing. The kitty is located in
    Leominster, but I am willing to bring her to any place in the New
    England Area.

1701.4DOOMS DAY IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!!!IAMOK::HTAYLORMe and my lil' pots o' purrs!Mon Aug 29 1988 19:0517
    Ok, here's the latest.

    Mary-Michael has offered a foster home with possibility of a permanent
    home for this kitty, but she is going on vacation on Labor day
    for two weeks and doesn't want to leave the kitty home alone with
    her cats. One of her cats has a history of attacking other cats
    if there are too many in the house.

    Pat Murphy has said that she is going to talk to her sister-in-law's
    brother and see if they want another Russian Blue (they have two).
    She is going to get back to me ASAP.

    Can anyone else provide a definite home for this kitty?? PLEASE!!!
    We don't have much time!!!!

    Holly,

    Did you ever find out who the breeder is? Or from whom the owners
    got the cat? I can't imagine the breeder not taking the cat back
    to place in a new home.

    PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

    Thanks,

1701.7Got perm home for herPOOL::MURPHYIs it Friday yet?Tue Aug 30 1988 14:3110
    Holly,
    I think I have a permanent home for this one. My brother got hold
    of his sister-in-law and it seems her neighbor downstairs from her
    would like to give a permanent home to the cat. Due to a death
    in her family recently, she'd like to see if a temp. home could
    take the cat until after the weekend though. Then she'd be able
    to give more time to settle the cat in her place.

1701.8She's found a homeIAMOK::HTAYLORMe and my lil' pots o' purrs!Tue Aug 30 1988 14:5719
    Ok, here's the scoop. Pennie, The breeders could not be found.
    The owners could not find the papers and they couldn't remember
    the name of the cattery.

    I have just gotten off of the phone with Mary-Michael. She is willing
    to provide a permanent home for the kitty as long as Charm will
    get along with the kitty. Edd Cote said that he would provide a
    temporary home for the kitty for two weeks (THANKS EDD!!).

    Pat, if things don't work out at Mary's house (hopefully they will),
    then maybe we can try and place her at your friend's home.

    Thank you everyone for all of your help. All of the responses I
    got just goes to prove that "Cat lovers ARE a special breed!"

    Thanks,

    Holly,

    Do the current owners remember *where* they got the cat?
    Even a "somewhere near townX" might help me locate the
    breeder...there aren't many of us around!

    Thanks,

1701.11I'm getting a new kitty!!!SWAT::COCHRANEI never blink.Wed Aug 31 1988 14:1021
    Yes, in all the excitement of getting a new kitty, I forgot to ask
    if "new kitty" had a name!!!

    My husband and I are anxiously awaiting the new arrival!!! Charm
    and I had a talk last night (although much conversation passed in
    both directions I doubt much actual understanding was obtained ;-])
    and I told her that the new kitty needed a home like Charm did,
    and we were giving her another chance for a nice home life. She
    didn't seem upset. Of course "new kitty" isn't with us yet, either
    ;-)!! I think they'll be fine. Charm is in a different situation
    now than previously, and some of the variables present before are
    not here now. Niniane and the new kitty will be very close in age,
    and I think they'll make fine playmates, leaving Charm time to be
    the vernable queen of the home that she is (although she has been
    prone to "fits of playing" lately)!!

    Ahh the thunder of little paws, the tick tick of little claws,
    the scritch scritch of carpet fibers being torn up........who
    could ask for more? Well, one more anyway...... ;-)

1701.12Chelsea is her nameIAMOK::HTAYLORMe and my lil' pots o' purrs!Wed Aug 31 1988 20:1211
    Well, to answer everyone's questions, the kitty does have a name.
    Her name is Chelsea.

    Congrats to Mary on the new kitty. I know that she will bring more
    pleasure to your house than you ever imagined! ;-)

    Thank you everyone for all of your help. Edd, I'll see you tomorrow
    to drop off Chelsea with you.
