1692.0. "Mission Accomplished!" by FSHQA2::RWAXMAN () Wed Aug 24 1988 01:30

    Well, almost.

Donna and I finally got the last two kittens. We used the carrier
technique again and it worked. Took the both of us to keep them
inside; one to push on the door and the other to tip the carrier
upwards so they couldn't get their footing.

These two were absolutely wild! The woman at the shelter couldn't
even get them with gloves - they tried to tear her to shreds. Instead,
she used a humane type of pole contraption to catch them by the
scruff and put them in the cage. Poor things. I feel so relieved
but so saddened by the whole ordeal. And there are sti two more
adult cats left; the daddy cat and the original mother to Karissa.
For them, we will try to use the HAV-A-HART trap.

Thought I would post an update for those of you who were following
my notes and wondering what happened.

Wish us luck with the last two!

    /Roberta

Sounds like the last two kittens could go to join Marvin, et al.
Or maybe "sad at CSS" dropped his off in your yard. B')

    Hi Roberta,

I'm really glad you got the two babies. At least they won't be
crying at night and freezing. It's hard on the nerves and on the
heart, but they are better off.

As for Karissa's mom and the Dad cat, keep setting the trap. If
you don't, next spring you'll go thru the same thing again (ask
how I know....). Good luck and hang on to the trap as long as you
    need it.

    Roberta,

Thanks for the update. I was wondering what had happened with
    the other two.

Looks like you and/or the shelter people have your work cut
out for you. Loki was pretty easy; he was just scared to death
of everything, so he was relatively easy to socialize (he'd run
    instead of fight).  Fluffy, on the other hand, is still half wild;
he'll jump the other cats continuously and very rarely will he let
anyone pet him (he tends to bite and scratch, playfully, but it
still hurts :-) !!). Sounds like these kittens are more on the
Fluffy side of things than the Loki side.

Good luck with the kittens (and the adults too), and please
    keep up informed!

                                      - Andrea

GOOD LUCK and nice job, Roberta! You will go to heaven for all
the time and effort you have put in to clean up someone else's
    mess.

    Thanks for keeping us posted!

BTW, will we see you at the Cape or Framingham shows?
