1496.0. "Helping to Place Homeless Pets" by 8BALL::MURPHY (Is it Friday yet?) Mon Jun 27 1988 20:16

The owner/manager of PETcetera, located on Rte. 102, Hudson, NH
told me she is working with the Hudson Animal Shelter to help place
homeless cats, dogs, kittens & puppies. She's had quite few successful
placements too. When I stopped in her shop last Friday afternoon,
she had an adorable little part husky pup just waiting for her new
owners to pick her up. The orphan pup was destined to be put to
sleep but she took it in, bottle fed it until ready for adoption
    and placed.

She loves animals and hates to see good, healthy pets destroyed.
She made arrangements with Hudson Shelter to display a live cat,
dog, puppy, or kitten in her shop for adoption and also has photos
with written info. of any others at shelter awaiting homes. She
finds quite a few people stop in at her place (many of whom have
a pet and they're buying supplies from her) who can't resist the
shelter animals. The adoptive parents have to deal with the Hudson
Shelter to do the actual adoption.

She's a very kind hearted person helping to place homeless animals
from her shop. She takes no money; just knowing they're getting
a new lease on life is all she wants. She does have a kennel license
so this is legal for her to display these animals in her shop.

On Friday afternoon she had a beautiful black/white, neutered/declawed
male cat on display. He had the double paws on all four feet and
what a nice disposition too. Wish I could have taken him. Couple
going to California dropped him and a longhaired grey cat off at
shelter; said no air conditioning in car so didn't want to take
them to CA with them. Grey cat went to new home first day on display.

If you are speaking about Anne, she really is something! I shop
there whenever I am in Hudson - I hope she is successful. i
will be seeing her Tuesday when I bring Malinka to be spayed -
Dr. Brody is in Hudson - gee, i hope she doesn't have anything
cute when I get there. Oh yeah, "The Inn is FULL." I think
    I said that before, didn't I?"

Yes, Anne is her name. She did place the nice black/white cat,
Dexter, in a home too. She's always got photos of more at the shelter
that need homes though; she's trying to place some kittens right
    now.
