1481.0. "Lymph Node Trouble" by IPG::KCAMPBELL (Furry Faces are Fun!) Thu Jun 23 1988 12:02

Has anyone's cat had swollen lymph nodes? Georgie was diagnosed as
having this a few days ago. His neck was swollen and he was generally
sluggish so we took him to the vet and this is what he said it was.
It's some sort of infection but he wasn't sure how it could have been
triggered off.

He's on a course of anti-biotics and, although the swelling around the
lymph node has gone down, the node itself is still bigger than normal
and about the same size as it was when we first discovered it.

I have only ever heard of this in Humans.

Hope Georgie feels better soon. Is it catching???

In humans, at least, lymph nodes can stay permanently enlarged,
even after the infection is gone.

Oh those darn lymph nodes.!! I suffer from allergies (not to animals)
and my glads and lymph nodes are swollen half the time. If I get
examined by a new doctor he always goes, Oh oh. Then we have to
start from the beginning, and they agree they stay swollen most
    of the time.

    What is the prognosis?

Could the cat be allergic to humans?

Mee too, Barbara - I used to think was "sick" - but the swelling
just indicates that my allergies are very active! What a pain..
