1163.0. "kitty-caused bad dreams" by GEMVAX::GRANT () Fri Mar 04 1988 12:00

My husband, Mal, had a nightmare last night. He dreamt that he was
in a terrible automobile accident, and had a cast around the top
of his head and over his forehead, coming down to cover his right
    eye.

When Mal woke up, he saw that Sly (_big_ kitty) was alseep on his
(Mal's) head, with the great big Sly-belly hanging over Mal's right
    eye.

Kind of reminds me of the old joke about having a dream that you
ate a giant marshmellow, and waking up to find your pillow gone.

I have a friend who experienced a similar dream. He had been feeling
quilty about wieght gain and worried about his health. One morning
he was dreaming that he was having chest pains and might be having
    a
heart attack and when he woke up he found his 18 lb. Siamese lying
on his chest. So much for the heart attack.

One morning while I was somewhere between awake/asleep I tried to
get up and found I couldn't move. Not being coherent at the time
as I was still partially asleep I had a frightening notion that
I had had a stroke or something during the night and that I was
now paralyzed. I tried to move my head, but couldn't, nor my legs,
arms or turn at the waist. In a panic I forced myself awake to discover
that Misha was draped around my neck, Abby and Lil had set themselves
one over each of my arms, Jemma was sacked out across my backside
and mozie was stretched out lengthwise from my ankles to my knees.
During the night the boiler had kicked out and everyone snuggled
    up with Mommy for warmth.
It seems funy now but it scared the heck out of me then.

These are all great, but *.3* really takes the cake! Thanks
for the best laugh I've had all day, and now please excuse me
while I wipe the tears from my eyes.

Funny you should mention this...a few nights ago, I was dreaming
that someone was sticking needles in my arm...I woke to find my
little Chauncey kneading away at my arm with those sharp little
claws. I'm glad I don't dream of his drooling.......

Last Sunday, I wasn't feeling too well, so I was ensconced on the couch
watching TV. Eventually, I decided to take a nap, and fell asleep with
one of my cats, Jasper, sleeping at one end of the couch by (but not
touching) my feet. I had a very weird dream wherein I and some other
person I can't remember were holed up in some kind of one-room building
trying to keep out some horrid creatures who could apparently appear in
different creature shapes. A white rat sneaked in through a biggish
crack in the door, and I was chasing it around the room trying to kill
it with some sort of blunt instrument. It was very resistant.
Finally, it came out from some kind of cover (a rug?) and latched on to
my shoe. I tried to shake it off my foot, and woke up to Jasper's
indignant squeal: I'd kicked him off the couch!

Now, he wasn't touching my foot while I was asleep, so I don't know if
this really counts as a kitty-influenced dream, but he sure suffered
    from its effect!
