Call it a gut reaction (in other words, I can't explain why) but
I think Cinamon should live with your folks.

    It's his home.

I agree with Edd, it's time for Cinamon to go back home.
You know that Cinamon will be well cared for and loved.

As they say "love shall conquer all".

Maybe they could adopt a playmate for Cinamon??

Or, Cinamon can stay with you and your Mom and Dad can adopt a new
    cat.

On more vote for home to Mom & Dad.

I've spoken elsewhere of Peri, _my_ big black dog [I know this
isn't CANINE...] before I went away to college. [He was neutered
by the time I went away so the loss of a good breeder was not a factor
in what transpired]. My parents sent me off with my cat, Jezebel, but
they kept Peri -- to his chagrin and mine. I lobbied intensively
to get my big dog baby and the folks finally gave in and Peri moved
up to college with me and Jez and four other cats and three other
dogs and nine other people in the big house in the country. He
was in heaven for about two months, and then he started pining for
    'home.'

I think if Peri had come away with me at the very start, he would
have been happy with me even though he missed the other dogs and
family, because up to this point he took a proprietary interest
in me [read: he thought he was my mother] But he had adapted
[cats do it, too! -- even better] to life without me and now wasn't
happy away from home for too long.

Until the day he died, I believe he thought coming to see me was
a form of going to summer camp -- great a several weeks, but then
    the homesickness kicks in.

So, did you send Peri back to your folks?

    My .2 worth--

From my exeperience with older cats, even tho they enjoy (after
a while) new companions, mostly they like and are used to being
the "cat in charge". Sounds like Cinamon was like that with your
folks, and would easily go back to that again, and enjoy it.

Best of luck, and please keep us posted,

Yes, Karen, Peri went back to my parents to live, but came to "Camp"
with me once or twice a year when my parents travelled. He was
blissfully happy with this arrangement until he died at age 18 --
Mother said he could kick up his heels with the menagerie[s] where
I lived and not worry about his patriarchal image at home. Dad
seemed to feel it was more like 'going to Florida in the winter
now that I'm retired...' -- Peri felt we owed it to him.

He'd come into my house and check things out -- I swear that dog
actually frowned at me if he found clothes on the floor or dishes
in the sink! -- then he'd take inventory of the four-legged population
for additions and departures and settle in for two to four weeks
of life in the country [my parents were suburban/urban].

[no one would _ever_ say he was spoiled ... at least not when he
    could hear]

Cinamon should go home to "Mom & Dad" and maybe you could bring
his "cousins" to visit on weekends!?! When I first go Schnitzel
I lived on a busy street so, on Sundays would bring her to "Grammy's"
to play 'cause "Grammy" lived in the country....she loved it!

Do your parents have anyother reasons for not wanting to take Cinamon
back except for the fact that he might be a little lonely without
    the youngsters around??

I vote on Cinamon living with Mom and Dad. Cimamon is an older
cat and although he is enjoying the "kids" around he will soon miss
the outdoors and his outdoor friends back home. How old is Cinamon??

Cinamon phone home! I think your parents love him and miss him
very much. I think that your Mom worrying about him missing his
playmates is being a bit of a martyr (my mother raised martyrdom
to an art form). After all, isn't Cinamon the only child they have
left at home? Given 2 days of being back home, he'll be perfectly
content to have your parents as his companions. As for T.K. and
Bandit, the conversation will go like this:

    T.K.: Hey, Bandit, where's Cinamon?

Bandit: Cinamon who? Wanna go shred some tissues?

    T.K.: Sure! Let's go!

Giving up Cinamon would break your mother's heart....

    Karen,

Now I know who #3 is.

As to Cinamon. Star came to live with us for a short time but was
very happy to go back home. She is much happier with her `real'
mommy. I think Cinamon would be too.
