1106.0. "MINIATURES" by UPBEAT::CGRAY () Wed Feb 10 1988 12:07

    HI,

I AM AN AVID COLLECTOR OF CAT MINIATURES MADE OF CERAMIC,
    PORCELAIN, GLASS, PEWTER, ETC.

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A PLACE AROUND HERE (WESTBORO, MA) THAT HAS A LARGE
COLLECTION OF THEM? I FREQUENT THE WAYSIDE COUNTRY STORE
IN MARLBORO, BUT I FIND THAT THEIR COLLECTION OF CATS IS SOMEWHAT
LIMITED, AND THEY RARELY SEEM TO GET NEW ONES IN.

I HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO TRAVEL QUITE A WAY TO ADD TO MY COLLECTION.
    ANY SUGGESTIONS?

    THANKS,

    CAESAR'S MOM

I recently received a brochure from the Franklin Mint regarding
a cat collection they were offering. Some 20 different cats
that you would get once a month. Some were jade, brass, pewter,
etc. Looked pretty interesting but were about $30 each. If
you're interested let me know and I'll see if I still have
the flyer to send to you.

There's also "Here Kitty Kitty" on Newbury St in Boston. It's
up around ~ Fairfield St on the Boylston St Side. Lots of cat
miniatures, stuffed cats, cet etc, etc.....I found it a bit
    pricey....but that's Newbury St!!!

Time to do something a little different. Join a Ceramics class
and make your own. I have made quite a few for my daughters and
    friends.

Off the track a bit but my cat (non-living) population just
keeps growing and growing. And I have never bought a single one!

My friends keep giving them to me and it is nice to look at them
and remember that person who gave it to me.

(My housekeeper hates the dusting though!)
