915.0. "WE DID DO IT!!!!!" by TPVAX1::ROBBINS () Tue Nov 24 1987 14:48

    I would just like to put in a short note to let everyone know
    that has been reading note 898 that as of yesterday the Pelham
    Shelter is empty. It never would have been possible if not for
    the overwhelming and shocking support and help from my fellow noters.
    We may not be able to do it all but I must say when the need arises
    we are quite a team...... All the kittens have permanent homes
    and the dogs at the moment are at foster homes.

    Thank-you again all of you!!!!!!!!

915.1Did Snoopy find Charlie Brown?BAGELS::ALLENTue Nov 24 1987 16:1824

    Hi Kim!

    What about Snoopy??? You couldn't forget that cute little furry-faced
    beagle, could you??? I missed him already, after only having him in my
    car for five minutes helping to deliver him to his new foster home.
    Boy, he must have been confused, but happy... Who has him now, or is
    the lucky person a member of the CANINE conference?

    Snoopy is a cutie... he made me wish I had the time to take care
    of a nice dog like him! (but I don't think Sebastion would quite
    agree... Claude likes everyone, however -she said, "you mean I don't
    even get to meet this beagle person?").

    I just want to say that yes, we can be quite a team, but the most
    important part is to have an organizer who cares enough to light
    the fires under us, and get some action, so most of the credit goes
    to you, Kim, and of course to your husband, too! Thanks. And best
    of luck to Marilyn, she sounds like a rare and special person, I
    wish there were more animal officers who cared as much as she does.

    Amy.

    No I could never forget about Snoopy. His new name is Pogo.
    At this time me and the foster mom are going to try to find his
    real owner. As he is so so sweet and unique he must have someone
    that misses him immensely!!!!!!! I am thrilled by the praise but
    never could have done it without everyone.......

    Hi, Kim.

    If you don't have Tiger placed in a permanent home yet, I may have
    one for him. Friend of my brother's is looking for a big, lovable,
    friendly, mixed breed to give a good home to. If he's already placed,
    maybe you or Marilyn have a lead on another one of the rescued dogs
    that needs a loving home; a big, lab cross maybe?

    I sure wish I could have kept Rachael (the husky); I fell in love
    with her.  What a sweetheart!

    Thanks for letting me help out.

    			GOOD FOR YOU!!!

    What a wonderful thing that you and all your helpers have done!
    I'm sure the "little folks" appreciate it and will definitely be
    better for all you've done. What a wonderful Thanksgiving this
    will be!

915.7Snoopy A.K.A. PogoDELNI::SNAITHWed Dec 02 1987 12:579
    Snoopy (aka POGO) has been placed in a permanent home, which he
    certainly deserves. He only stayed with us for 8 days, but were
    we attached. His new home is with a restaurant owner, so he will
    be able to snack on prime rib bones for the rest of his days. Also,
    being good friends with the owner I can visit him too. What a nice
    dog, but a real roamer which is probably how he got lost in the
    first place.

915.8Good news!BAGELS::ALLENWed Dec 02 1987 15:4513

    I am SOOO glad to hear about Snoopy, Pam, thanks for letting me know! I
    found myself thinking of him often- and he was just ONE of many! It
    made me realize first hand that there are so many special pets in
    animal shelters just waiting for someone to love!

    Hurray for Snoopy (Pogo)! Do me a favor and tell him hi from me next time
    you see him!

    Is his name officially Snoopy or Pogo now, anyway, or has he acquired
    a brand new one?

    Amy.

    He didn't seem to respond to Snoopy, so I started calling him Pogo.
    He began to respond to that a little, EXCEPT when he gets loose.
    Then he responds to nothing but the call of the wild, nose to the
    ground and tail going a mile a minute. Fortunately his short legs
    make it possible to catch up with him. His new owners like the
    name Pogo and are going to keep it (as they get into really great
    shape chasing him.) They call him Pogo who really gogos.
