| It could be something like a 24 hour bug like humans get but the
cats know enough not to eat when they are not feeling very good.
Since they aren't eating they aren't getting sick. As your vet said
as long as they are back on their food in a day or two I wouldn't
worry about it. Good luck.

| Hmm. Sounds like what has been going on at my house with my
eleven furballs! I finally got tired of throwing food away
and brought Katenka to the Vet last night. Between myself
and two other friends (a total of 33 cats) there seems to
be a bug going around, like a cold.
Bottom line is that if they can't SMELL IT - THEY WON't EAT IT!
Vet suggested sprinkling clam juice or tuna & tuna liquid on
their food - when I winced at that (I don't feed fish) he
got out the Lixitinic (?sp) - I tried it when I got home &
it worked! Bowl was empty this morning! The little piglets
are doing better - some are still sneezing a little - medication
(antibiotic pills for eleven is some trick twice a day !!) is
helping also.

| Somewhere I heard that if a cat is not eating because it's nose
is out of commission due to a cold, etc., it sometimes helps to
hold a tidbit of food somewhat up above their heads, so they have
to "look up" at it. the theory is that this drains the nose congestion
and they can then smell the food. no idea if this works.

| I'm assuming T.K. has no other possible source of food?
I had similar problems with first my dog then my cat. A little
sleuthing uncovered a neighbor who'd taken pity on them and
fed them. When I asked that this be stopped, next mealtime they
ate as usual.

| 11, huh... not bad.
Worst case I had was thirteen taking ringworm medicine (horse size
bills that tasted BAD) three times a day. I literally had bites
into every finger I have, then broke done and got a pill gun. Had
to dose them 10 days.

| Gee Dave, I hope your fingers have recovered! 13 3 times a day
is really a bit much! I thought 11 twice a day was more than I
ever wanted to do. Does the pill gun really work well? I have
never tried it. Never had to before last month!

| Yes, After many years of feeding pills to cats by hand I have to
say pill guns work.
