753.0. "It Must Be The Kitten Season!" by AKOV68::FRETTS (Shine your Spirit!) Tue Sep 08 1987 21:04

A friend of mine who works at the St. Francis House day shelter
for homeless people, rescued two kittens last week from "a really
off-the-wall" guy as she put it. These kittens are not even six
weeks old. She needs to find them a home quickly.

I spent some time with them over the weekend and they are very
sweet. The male is grey and white and already purrs when he is
petted. He doesn't like to be held up in the air and will cry
loudly if you do so. The female is black and white, and slightly
smaller than her brother. I was making little kitty-calling
sounds to them, and I must have hit the magic tone, because
they both turned around at the same time and just stared at me
entranced until I stopped! They both will look very directly
at people and if you talk to them it looks like they are trying
to understand. The little female had some dirt in the corner of
her eye, so I decided to wet a tissue with warm water and wipe
it off. I started to wipe her face and she just spaced right out,
eyes closed and purring. It must have felt like mom washing her
face. I did this to both of them for a little while and they loved
	it.

They are very sweet babies and we would like to place them together
if possible. Please, if you can't adopt them, check around with
your friends and co-workers. You can reach me by Vaxmail at the
	above node address.

	Thanks much,

	Carole

P.S. If you are wondering why my friend Ronnie isn't keeping them
it's because she already has ten of these kitty faces to feed
everyday. And I can't take them a) because I already have
five and b) we are fighting a battle with FIP (Buster Brown's
titer readings have been high the last two times they were
checked) and babies' systems are just too susceptible to
viruses. The vet said it would not be a good idea to bring
	      any kittens into the house.

*** I have also entered this in note 415 ***
