723.0. "DESPERATE CAT NEEDS HOME FAST-PLEASE HELP!" by OGOMTS::RYAN () Tue Aug 25 1987 18:29

Desperate Cat looking for some love
2 Months ago I found a large orange tabby in the parking lot across
from my apartment sifting through the trash, obviously looking for
food. I left her alone, but she started sleeping in my front bushes
beside my porch, and every morning on my way to work she'd greet
me with an affectionate rub, a mellow moew and then sit on the porch
and repeat the process when I came home. After 2 weeks of this
I began feeding her because it was obvious she wasn't "going away"
and that she had no home. If you or anyone you know of can give
this cat a good, loving home - PLEASE let me know! I'm desperate
to find her a home because I'm an apartment dweller who isn't allowed
anymore than one pet (which I already have), and I'm moving in 2
weeks to another location which will not allow the cat either.
Right now I'm breaking the rules because I do allow her in when
    the landlord isn't around.

    At best estimation she is:

Female, looks to be 2-3 years old.
Large with large paws, light orange with white markings (looks like
    Morris)
    She is an indoor/outdoor cat
She is EXTREMELY affectionate (more so than my own), quiet, and
    very attentive.
She likes children (my 3 year old neice spent 1 hour "tormenting"
her and picking her up and down and she never made an attempt at
hurting her, just put up with the "punishment")
At present she is residing around my house in Ayer off of RT2A.
It seems to me that she was "dumped" off or got lost although I
haven't seen/heard anyone looking for her. She was obviously a
family animal since she's well mannered and so affectionate.

I want to find her a home because she's such a nice animal. This
file is my "last ditch effort" because I bring her to the humane
society to be put in a cage. (I know it's a good place but she
deserves a family and likes being "free").

If you or anyone can help her, please contact Becki at the above
    node or DTN 276-9692. PLEASE!

Okay, I admit it -- after searching and holding out for a gray
cat for several months (not looking in earnest, just checking
here and there), I couldn't resist the description of affection
and have adopted this kitty.

While every bit as affectionate as advertised, 'she' had a
non-surgical sex change upon visiting the vet -- 'he' is a
neutered male! Surprise!!
