592.0. "life after death?" by USHS01::MCALLISTER (Mars or Bust!!) Fri May 15 1987 16:29

A recent note brought up a good point... what happens to your pets
if you die before they do. My wife and I have a will stating that
    a) the breeders of cats that we did not breed be contacted to see
if they would want them back, b) that homes be found for them, or
    c) that they be bought to a kind end. While it is not pleasant
to think on such matters, I am glad that we took these steps rather
than the thought of my cats being turned out to fend for themselves,
or crowded into the local animal shelter.
My parents, who have one of our abys, have a similar clause.

What do you think? What plans, if any, have you made?

I have made arrangements with my husband in case anything happens
to me only. He has agreed to keep all of our cats (soon to be six)
and take good care of them for the rest of their lives, but he will
not continue to breed them. He will get them all spayed and neutered.

If something happens to the two of us, we have made arrangements
for our cats to go to Joui's breeder. She has agreed to take them
in and find good homes for them. She has also agreed not to put
    them to sleep.

This is a reciprocal arrangement. We will take in her cats for
    her if something happens.
