--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Starting Feb. 1, Channel 2 [ WGBH (PBS) Boston ] will air CATS & DOGS,
a half-hour, 26-part series to be hosted by veterinarian Anita Migday,
owner of the Slade Veterinary Hospital in Framingham [Mass] and medical
adviser for the Mt Ida College Veterinary Technician Program in Newton.
The show focuses on pet care and plans to explore the relationships
between people and their pets. CATS & DOGS will offer tips and techniques
for pet owners, visits with patients and their owners and trips around
the country to visit with unusual pets and their owners. The programs
will be broadcast at 5 p.m. Saturdays.

[ Note: Since Ch 2 is a PBS station, chances are good your own local
  PBS station may also carry the show sometime this year. ]

OK, FOLKS, here it is... I managed to obtain a schedule for each
episode of the show. I will enter it as a separate REPLY to this one
so you can copy it.

Please don't blame me for any typo/spelling errors! I did this list
at midnight last night, and copied it from a hand-written box schedule.
Hopefully I haven't missed anything....  :^}

I also am not a Cat fancier so appologies in advance for any errors
concerning the cat breeds or spellings, etc.

Have at it!  :^}

Tom

I saqwe the first show, and have to say the following:

The hearing-ear dog shpot wasn't too bad.
The best aspect of the cat-claw clipping was that the male Sealpoint
was A N G R Y and let everyone know it with growls.

There wewre several cute puppies.

but....

It was as amateurish as a lot of other PBS/WGBH shows in general. The
topics might be good (can be), but unless there's a marked improvement
in production values, I wince at how public money's being spent (even
with Matching Grants).

                I've seen the first two shows now, and while it isn't
        done as a multi-million dollar extravaganza (which I didn't
        expect), the show is reasonably done, and reasonably
        interesting. (I even found myself enjoying the doggie parts, and
        I don't care for dogs in general. [Please no flames about my not
        liking dogs, it's my choice.]) BTW - I would much rather have a
        show with good content done with reasonable technical quality
        than one one with little content with super technical quality!

    According to the TV Guide, the series will also be shown on
    Channel 57 [ PBS - Springfield, MA ] beginning this Sunday,
    Feb 16, at 7:30 PM. I didn't get a chance to check the rest
    of the TV Guide listings so I don't know if Ch 57 will repeat
    each episode like Ch 2 is doing.

    If anyone spots the series in their own area, other than
    Ch's 2 and 57, please let others know about it, both here
    and in CONDOR::CANINE # 133.

    Thanks.
