Bobby has adapted well: Some pointers for the allergic.

Whenever Bobby scratches, or disgs his claws into me, however playful, I
almost immediately break into 'hives' at every lesion. Now, before I pick
him up, I put on a fairly heavy shirt, and cover my lap with and old 
braided rug, and limit the petting time to 10 minutes.

The rug protects me from mild scratches, as does the shirt. He is used to
it, and he won't 'jump up' to my lap UNLESS I have the rug covering it.

However, when the previous owners come to visit, he wil insist on jumping
up on them .. because that's what he's used to with them ! 

Part of his problem was that his Eyes were dilated ... wide open all the
time. After living in the rear sheds for these past weeks, his eyes are
once again normal (I think), but he still seems to have a perceptual 
problem. If I wear my 'wingtips' , he'll start to run away, but stops
instantly when I speak to him (if he feels like it). 

He is still very wary of noises, particularly the dryer, but I think he'll
eventually learn that it's not a threat to him.

He has apparently put on a little more weight. I guess he's about 12 pounds
or so now.  He is more than 20 inches long (TNI) stretched out, and seems
to think I llike being nipped or scratched (which I don't).

THe only other problem is his hair ... gets all over the place, and still
prefers the old sofa instead of his scratching post.

Both of which are temporarily solved by letting him use the sheds, and I
use the house.
