132.0. "Cat wetting in shoes" by CLOUD9::YARGER () Tue Aug 20 1985 14:51

My mother has an old female cat that enjoys shoes. Until recently she
only rolled around them in play. My brother discovered tho that she
wet in one of his shoes during the night. The shoes are leather, so
throwing them in the washer isn't a good idea.

Does anyone know what to do about the smell in the shoes? Or how I
can suggest to him on how to clean them? They're a good pair and he
doesn't want to throw them away.

Thanks,
sue yarger

Maybe they could be dry-cleaned? When my kitty wet other than her box,
I suspected a bladder infection, and sure enough, she had one. Maybe
that's why she had the accident?

There is a company in Maine that sells an "odor eating" product called ODOR-
KLEEN. You spray it on the object and the odor is supposed to disappear. I've
used it on a couple of places where my cat has had "accidents" and it seems to
work very well.. I'll try to remember to bring in the mailing information
and send it off to you.

By the way, I initially heard about this stuff in a magazine. I wrote a short
letter to the company requesting further information about ordering and TWO DAYS
later a package arrived!

Regards,
