5544.0. "snmp exiting, can't find ucx$snmp_agent.exe" by BSS::G_MCINTOSH (Touch Not the Cat, Bot the Glove) Wed May 28 1997 17:50

    Customer is on ucx4.1-eco2, alpha/vms 6.2
    SNMP error exiting before accept,
    snmp can't find ucx$snmp_agent.exe,
yet snmp seems to be working fine. How's that?

Here's the scoop, customer called me saying that he gets an opcom
message everytime the ucx box is polled by the snmp server. The
    errors are:

message from user internet on node x
internet acp detected ucx$snmp exiting before accept

message from user internet on node x
internet acp auxs error during process exit
    	status=%cli-e-imagenf ucx#snmp_agent.exe

However ucx IS participating in snmp. When the node is down, it turns
red on the server, when it's up, it turns green, etc.

Found that there are 3 ucx$snmp_startup.com. One in sys$startup, one
in sys$manager and the one in ucx$snmp is the one that's calling
    ucx$snmp_agent.exe.

Customer is renaming the one in ucx$snmp and will see if that
    alleviates the opcom messages.

Any customer problem should probably be IPMT'd pronto.
The current UCX maintainers are measured/rewarded by the
number of PTRs/IPMTs.

An unfortunate but true situation.

The faster you IPMT, the quicker your solution.

Thank you Lee for the response. I thought it might simply be something
that customer did wrong, of which I was not aware. I will followup
    with cusotmer.

    Thank you.
