238.0. "Rdb -> Access problem" by 4177::UWAHLQVI () Wed Aug 14 1996 08:19

    I have a problem trying to replicate from Rdb 7.0-FT5 to an MS Access
    database on NT.

    I'm using DBI 7FT2 which supports some DDL-statements.

    I'm using DDAL T7.0-3.

    My problem is that I don't know what DBkey-mode to specify in the
    attach statement.

    Eg. If I use the default ( read-only ) the tables are created but Rep
    Opt can't update ( no surprise ).

    If I use PRIMARY_KEY I get "...no primary key for table...", as
    expected.

    How do I specify the primary key for tables that Rep Opt will create ?

    Has anyone tested this yet ?

238.1Better Information in T7.0-5BROKE::PROTEAUJean-Claude ProteauWed Aug 14 1996 15:596

    Yes, this has been tested. I'm not certain about the completeness of
    the ROR documentation for T7.0-3 in this regard. Can you wait a day or
    two for us to make the T7.0-5 kits and documentation ready? There is
    some relevant information in the T7.0-5 release notes which supplements
    and corrects what appears in chapter 5 on the ROR 7.0 handbook.

    I can certainly wait a day or two. How do I get the information that
    there is a new kit to pick up ? It is a problem sometimes, that we have
    BETA-customers but we ( Oracle ) don't want to be official BETA-test
    sites. We do have QAR/QE-access. The customer gets the kit but we don't
    even know there is a kit available.

238.3I'll announce it hereBROKE::PROTEAUJean-Claude ProteauThu Aug 15 1996 13:066

    I will announce in this notes conference the availability of the Beta
    kits. Also, I'll place the kits in a location from which internal
    Oracle folks can copy the kits if they need them.
