no kiddin'? i'd like to meet you as well. i do admire your style and
    intellect.

    me? i know Brian (he's cool - he Mc-MTB's!).

Lady Di (of course right now she's like to kill me), Dougo, 'tine,
the Glen's, EDP, Dan (for sure), Mike W., Jim S., Jim P... etc...

i entertain attending a 'bash now and then, but never seem to work

Everyone in here. I'm not going to put a list in saying I'd rather
meet one over the other. The boxers I have met and have had
correspondence with have all been nice folks.

Always like to see 'Boxers. I would pick any MSO Babe first, of
course. I'd pick Binder, the prototypical curmudgeon, Levesque
if he wore his moderator's hat, or Phil Hays on a very cold
     winter's day.

i too like levesque. his notes are short, succinct and almost
always provide added value. i think wannamonkey and i locked
horns a few times but my sense is that he'd be a great guy to
know and have a few beers with. dougo is a tad long-winded,
but provides an intelligent perspective from left of center.
i almost alway learn something from his notes and feel i'm
not being patronized and/or belittled simply because i disagree
     with him.

I'm honored. That's a cold day on a global basis, of course. Winter or
not. You probably should have tried for a day in 1992-1993 when the
eruption of the century was cooling the planet: 1995 is likely to be the
hottest year on record. Again. And not even counting Congress.

And I'll take even odds bets that 1996 will be warmer.

I feel the same way, and its a downright honor to be on your
    list.

Might I add though that I can't think of any boxer I've met
who wasn't _at the very least_ interesting, nor can I
think of any that I've met that didn't seem like gosh-darn
fine human beans. Not one of them has ever spit at me or
chucked me the bird (while I was looking), and well, that's
    a start... :-) :-)

I'd like to meet Don Topaz and Bill Licea Kane. Seriously.
It's no doubt we'd have more in common (Bill's interest
in jazz, and Don's interest in opera for a start) than
would be apparent from the venom-laced dung we fling
    about with impunity...

I have to agree with Mike Wannamonkey again (geez, this is happening waaay
to frequently lately). Tho some spark more curiousity than others, I'd hate
to miss out on any of you - provided I'm adequately armed, that is. :')

I must confess, though, if I were forced to choose but one, it'd be Lady
Di, the classiest of the bunch (I know, I know...faint praise). And a
mod to boot!

RE: 539.35 by POBOX::BATTIS "GR8D8B8"

Oh, just a little "special" on the town where I live and work. I guess
the guy across the street from me is going to get some nationwide air time,
as he is chairman of the local school board. Oh, I'm sure it's just
loverly, as he got elected (I voted for him) by talking about improving the
quality of education, and then voted in a Mandatory Moment for Prayer, an
Official Gay Hate Policy, a big Creationism stink, a stink over Phonics
_Only_ for teaching reading and writing... Not to mention a few assorted
little issues like campaign ads with altered photos.

Just a second, I need to put another piece of tape on the bag over my
face, as I don't want it to fall off...

Last school board meeting was a near riot (again... sigh) as he didn't want
to listen to a group of mothers that wanted to discuss why their kids were
in classes much larger than the state standard, and then had to wait at
school for three quarters of an hour for a grossly overcrowded bus to take
them home. One of the usual majority (for a change) failed to back him,
so he had to listen. Or at least pretend to.

    Bri,

EC's current bass player is Dave Bronze; he's excellent, but I would
have to say he doesn't have Nathan East's flair, personality or
    singing ability.

I must admit some of my favorite EC records and videos are from
when he worked with East and Greg Philinganes on keyboards.

A few weeks back I caught one of those stand-up comedy shows on one
of the cable stations; Nathan East was the musical director of a
group that I assume is his own.

    RE: Stones

I think so Karen... I'm not sure he's a permanent member
(he doesn't appear in any of the Voodoo Lounge videos
for instance), but he did play on the album and the
tour (unless I've got "brain cloud" and have wrong person...)

    -b
539.63Just make sure you're available when THE call comesDECLNE::REESEToreDown,I'mAlmostLevelW/theGroundThu Sep 07 1995 21:5315
It's possible Bri, Chuck Leavell was on keyboards with the Stones
for Voodoo Lounge, but Leavell also sat in on Clapton's Unplugged.
East might have worked on the album, but I saw a rehearsal of one
of the first Voodoo Lounge concerts, unless he was standing behind
an amp, I don't remember seeing him (the clip was for Miami stop on tour).

I think some of these guys become interchangeable when there are
conflicts in schedule :-) East is one of my favorites because he
has the ability to play a heckuva bass, sing and boogie around all at
the same time :-) (He was also part of Unplugged).

Watching Bronze work out on bass for Everyday I Have The Blues, gave
me a greater appreciation of what it must be like for you to play
    with a bad wrist. Ouch!!

The Doctah is absolutely right... snarfing is just plain juvenile.
I've met a few of the snarf recidivists and it's true that they're
nice and perhaps even normal people. On the other hand, they refuse
to consider the message that a snarf really contains:

    1. It doesn't matter if other people don't like it, I'm a bloody
addict and everyone else can go to hell...

    2. I really really need that little bit of attention, so much
so, that I will totally disrupt a conversation and then
piss on anyone who complains about it...

    3. I'm not anal retentive, but I keep track of the numeric
progression of notes so I can have my 15 seconds of fun.
No, I'm not obsessed or anything; I'd just prefer a good
1000 or 666 snarf to an orgasm...

Take stock of yourselves people and THINK!!! Is this the message
that you're trying to send? It may not be, but it certainly
is the message a good number of us are receiving!!!!

There's a million more interesting things to do. Find one!!!!

    Brandon,

Alas, I still find Fuhrman physically attractive (no accounting for
hormones, I suppose); but he is indeed a bigot, if I had ever met
him in person I'm certain I would have picked up on it rather
    quickly.

I can't remember if you're on the birthday list, but I'd bet I'm
quite a bit older than you. Believe me, I don't wear blinders; when
I first traveled through the south in the late 60's, there were
still water fountains, etc. marked "whites only" (even though the
civil rights laws had been passed). Don't know if you ever caught
much of that infamous march in Forsyth County a few years back; a
co-worker here at ALF was almost killed when he was struck by a
brick. Seeing tiny children dressed in KKK outfits was enough to
sicken even those with the strongest of stomachs.

Yes, I have a problem with the race card being played in the Simpson
case, but not for the reasons you might think. Race didn't matter
between Nicole and OJ, they weren't about race. Obsessive love,
addictive love pretty much defines their relationship; I just wish
the case could be tried along those lines, that's all.
