Once you have a hangover you're pretty much sunk. I don't drink
much at all anymore, but when I did I used to try and eat alot while I
was drinking and then consume large amounts of water, aspirin, and
vitamin C before retiring for the evening. Usually woke up feeling
respectable, tho' not as good as if I didn't drink at all.

Lots of things; see Dave Yeomans' guide to hangover cures in the EF94
archive... here's a few things I've tried myself:

Things from the Chemist, eg Resolve (paracetamol & glucose mix)
Can sometimes give a temporary respite from being hungover,
but isn't a proper remedy. A *real* hangover will be back
with a vengeance in a few hours...

Lucozade
Limited help with the headache, but stops you wanting to
puke up. Makes you feel a bit more alive.

Black coffee
Increases the headache tenfold, but wakes you up.

Water (lots of)
Decreases the feelings of dehydration, but only makes you
	feel slightly better.

Paracetamol/Aspirin
Gets rid of the headache, but you still know it's there, so
	what's the point?

Orange juice (fresh)
	Makes you feel slightly better

Full English breakfast (greasy bacon, greasy sausages, greasy fried
bread, greasy eggs, mushy beans, black pudding, brown sauce, mushrooms)
Strangely enough, although this is probably the last thing
a person could face in the morning, it works wonders on a
hangover. Thorougly recommended (as long as someone else
	cooks it, that is)

Chicken soup
	Don't bother.

`Hair of the dog'
	Don't bother with this, either.

Don't drink the night before.
	Oh, be serious.

Go back to sleep.
Sometimes works, sometimes makes you feel worse. Take your
	chances!

Er, that's about all I can think of right now.

Chris.

Another allegedly tried and tested method (but not by me) is to drink
a pint of milk before embarking on a lager frenzy, and drink a pint
of water afterwards. The idea being that the milk lines the stomach,
and the water prevents dehydration. Of course that may be total bollocks.

Tylenol et al supposedly can compound the damage alcohol causes to the

Prevention is the key. I was given this by an ex-VP of a large bank. He
said it was survival training. I have had several oppertunities to
verify this, and as far as I can tell, it is **the** answer.

    1. Before going to bed drink 2 large glasses of water (I know, you have
heard this one before). It acts like a biological alarm clock, and
wakes you in the middle of the night.

    2. When you wake up in the middle of the night, take an ALKA-SELTZER.

    3. Wake up a fresh as a daisy in the morning (or if really bad, take
    another ALKA-SELTZER).

I have only had to take the second ALKA-SELTZER once, and on that day,
I should have been dead, not hung over.
