    	You can't sleep.
    	You're hungry.
You go to the kitchen and fix yourself something marvelous!

    	What is it?

Depends on if there's chocolate to be had...

If there isn't any, I'd be most inclined toward a bowl
of Life cereal, Raisin Bran, or Honey Grahams... or
perhaps leftovers of some sort... Chinese chicken
fingers or Thai satay are always welcome...

Sardines, if and only if, I'm in the mood for a beer
too, which I'm generally not for mid-night or later
    snack attacks.

Depends on what my mood is. At 2am I usually don't want to make too
much noise, but if the food that calls out to me is an omelette then
hey, I'm gonna break a few eggs, chop some onions, hunt for other
miscellaneous ingredients (leftover chinese food can be a great
omelette filling) grate some cheese, and do it right. A little hot
cocoa on the side, some quiet dish rinsing, and its back to bed. Or I
may sit up and read for a few hours...

I love the quiet time, but I hate the next morning.

Okay, so I'm being picky. 8^)

I would wait until morning to eat. It isn't good for you to chow down
and then go directly to sleep. Not that I've never had the urge, mind
    you.

For those who are dieting, this is probably one of the worst things you
can do (eat while your digestive system is slowed- good way to put on
some extra poundage, depending on what you eat).

    It's / Its

    Pretty simple really.

It's is a contraction of it is. If "it is" fits where you put "it's"
then you have it right. For example: "It's time to have the cat
    fixed."

Otherwise, "its" means "belonging to or with", as in "He took
out the dynamite and lit its fuse"...

A DJ in Los Angeles swears that the best late night treat is a pint of
Hagen Dazs Chocolate Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, nuked for 60 seconds to
soften. Dump a jar of maraschino cherries (juice and all) into the ice
cream, stir. Refreeze for a couple minutes. Eat. I've never tried it
and although part of me feels kind of queasy thinking about it, I bet
    it's really good.

You're right! It is time to have the cat fixed. She has an appointment
for Wednesday AM. If she lasts til then. I let it go a little too long
and she is rather, um, well, amorous right about now.
