1068.1we can help...PORTME::ABUGOVThu Jun 13 1996 19:4611

    Hi Stefan,

    We can help today with the rdb transparent gateway to pc data. When
    the Rdb replication option (DDD) and the pc data ship their next
    versions, we'd expect you to be able to use ddd to automate the
    transfer (if it would be useful).

    Thanks,

    Stefan,

    What Dan is referring to is already in Beta test, in case you need the
    capability now.

    It is not. I tried yesterday and the current BETA does not support DDL-
    operations. This is from the release notes:

    4.2.4.9 DDL is NOT Supported

                  This FT of the gateway for PC Data does not support the
                  creation of Databases, Tables, Domains, Indexes or any
                  other metadata objects. However, some level of DDL support
                  is anticipated for the final version 7 release.

                                       Beta Draft
