Hi,

Could anyone be kind and tell me :

1. How do I reach the DBI and getways kits ?
2. What are the Oracle part numbers for ordering the media ?

Thanks for the media information - it was very helpful, because I couldn't get
the information from the ordering system in Ireland.

As for the kit information : I assume you refer to reply 36.45, which I saw
before, but :
1. The reply was written while DBI owned by Digital and I thought the location
   should have changed.
2. The reply gives location named DBI$AXPVMS_KITS, with no specific node. I have
   an account on WRVMS. Could I reach this location from there ?

    For V3.1A kits, if you are on the Oracle side the kits are available in
    broke::dbi$axpvms_kits.  If you are on the Digital side we don't have
    permission to post anything other than our ft kits.

    Are there part no's for PC Data gateway, announced in .46 ?
    
    Is there a evaluation kit available? I want to check if the product
    can be used to communicate from Alpha VMS with Windows/NT SQL server ?

    Hi Eric,
    
    The new part number for the gateway on AXP is A44252. This is CDROM and
    this is for the current shipping versions. You can get to SQL Server on
    NT using the PC gateway.

Just found out from client relations today that they have the above part
numbers in reverse.  I had her read and reread just to be sure and she
definately has A43814 as the OpenVMS platform and A47081 as the UNIX platform.

Hi,

One of our customers is asking if there is a more recent release of the gateway
to Sequelink after V3.1A.   

We have a newly release CD ROM kit titled: Oracle Distributed Technologies V7.0
for DEC Alpha and VAX VMS (PN: A51032-01).   I saw that we have V7.0 updates for
the gateways to DB2, ORACLE, Sybase, PC Data and V3.0E updates for gateways to
RMS, DBMS, DSM and Custom Drivers.   I wonder if we have something planned for
gateway to Sequelink after V3.1A.

    No. that product is at end of life. 
    
    When techgnosis, developers of sequelink, was purchased by Intersolve
    they re-evaluated their platform strategy. they froze the vms client at
    the then current version. 
    
    we met with them but they would not reconsider, we have put the
    sequelink product on hold, not shiping it any longer.
