313.0. "Tchaikovsky, Peter" by MILKWY::SLABOUNTY (Foreplay? What's that?) Mon Feb 26 1990 15:00

I got a "Best of" CD (ADD) last week, with:

    	1812 Overture
    	Marche Slave
    	Romeo and Juliet
    	[1 other]

    	by Eugene Normandy (Ormandy?).

"Marche Slave" blows away "1812 Overture", IMO.

    Still another HM related topic.

Don't kid yourself there DD...more HM bands owe stolend licks n riffs
to P.I.T. than you can shake a stick at. Plus, good ole Pete and
Rob Halford actually have a lot more in common than you may think!

    	RE: Buck

Alright, alright ... I think we can guess what that is.

And as I mentioned eons ago in the "Trivia" note, Accept
uses the intro to "Marche Slave" in "Metal Heart".

You should try the Telarc 1812 if you want some heavy metal...
(Wonder how much a cannon weighs.)

Seriously, the cannons cause my amp to go full volume at about 3-4 on the
volume dial. Musically the 1812 is okay, but for sheer fun it is hard to beat.

The write up says the cannons contain signals as low as 6 Hz!!

They used rifles on the version I have ... no cannons.

    re.313.4

    Yes, I agree.
My brother played me the Telarc CD '1812 Overture, and I'm sure
it's about as heavy as you can get......except for Mahler!
