867.0. "Only Living Witness" by ICS::DELLAROCCO () Sat Aug 22 1992 03:02

			ONLY LIVING WITNESS

Boston based heavy metal rock band ....Just signed a recording

deal with Century Media Records. Picked up there latest demo a while back

and thought it was really good. They're suppose to have a debut album out

around the spring of '93. Has anyone else gotten a chance to see these

guys. If so what did you think?

Yep, that's my old band, formerly known as Formicide. Glad to hear
they are doing well though I guess they dropped all the Form. material.
I have no idea what they sound like now...

What???? Formicide???? I thought they turned into Terrisphere, you
Frank Sasha then I take it? Not that Frank is cool or anything but if
you were in Formicide you should know him right?

Tell me what did Frank play???

Also if Frank is in Only Living Witness what the hell does Josha do???

And anouther thing they are a Lowell band (Lowell Police will pay!!!)

I dont know if your talking about the same band...Please reply...

When I was in the band, it was Kevin Stevenson on guitar, Roy Costa on
bass, Steve (I forget his last name)on vocals and me on drums (Rob). I
was replaced by Kevin's brother Eric (who I also originally replaced because
of differences between the two that were laster resolved). Somewhere
down the road, they added another guitarist (Craig I think?). Then
they broke up. Then they reformed as Only Living Witness with a new
singer (apparently Steve has married and moved out to CA). As of now,
I have NO CLUE who the hell is in it anymore, but last I heard, it was
still Kevin and his brother. Roy and I did something on the side very
briefly somewhere along the way. I'm not sure where they are based
these days, but Lowell sounds about right. Kevin was from Tewksbury,
Roy and Steve from Billrica, Kevin went to U Lowell and has been
directing musicals at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium occasionally. I'm
kind of out of touch right now, but talk to Kevin occasionally (he's
    been hard to track down).

    Cheers, Rob

    FWIW...

Just talked to the old singer for Formicide, Steve Rapucci. He is now
living in Derry, NH *he was in LV, not CA), Kevin is in some band
called something like boing, boing or fish, fish or blender, blender...
well, you get the idea. Roy is doing nothing, Steve is doing nothing.
The only Formicide guy in Only Living Witness that's left is the
    drummer Eric Stevenson (Kevin's brother).

    Only Living Witness History.

Only Living Witness was formed from the ashes of Formicide and
Blind Surgeon. The original line up consisted of Eric Stevenson
on drums, Kevin Stevenson on guitar, Roy Costa on bass and Jonha
Jenkins (Blind Surgeon) singing. The band recoreded a four song
demo which included at least one unreleased Formicide song, I
believe it was "Dying System". After that was released I think
Roy left the band on good terms. Kevin left shortly after I
believe he wanted to spend more time with his other project,
Duck Duck. The remaining members re-released the demo minus
one song, I believe it was "C.O.P." The re-release was available
on vinal only. Shortly after this Chris Crowley ( formerly of
Deslok ) joined O.L.W. playing bass. Around the same time, Craig
Silverman ( formerly of Scarecine ) started playing with them.
This is the current lineup, and from what I hear it is the permanent
lineup. This foursome just released a four song demo called "Prone
Mortal Form". Shortly after this O.L.W. was signed to Century Media
and is expecting a record out sometime in May.
I saw these guys at the Paradise last month with the Cro Mags and
they were nothing short of amazing. A must see live.

thanks. you know more about whats going on with everybody than i do!!
i hope that 'liars den' subject wasn't directed at me. another
interesting tidbet: before formicide was called that, the original
name was ELEVEN, (long story) though they never played anywhere under
that name. a demo was done at WEST in londonderry (the same place as
formicide's 1st demo), but was never mixed down amd the master was
shortly erased there after due to lack of funds and dying interests.

    cheers, rob

I think these guys play at some old theatre(a hole in the wall) in
Manchester NH. The place is called the Empire theatre. All the hardcore
bands play at this place. One of them is a couple of friends of mines
    band (Dry Bones).
