No, Jeff is a singer now. He has local guitar man, Darren Housholder
on guitar, Michael Diamond on bass, and an unannounced drummer who
is supposed to be world renowned, but hasn't told his other band
that he's quitting yet. I gotta hunch that it's Tommy Aldridge,
    Carmine Appice or Frankie Binalli.

    Mr. Ed...just a guess!

Howz about good ole' Cozy Powell - I mean to say - the guy has been
with Sabbath for over 6 months now, so he's probably gettin'
    itchy sticks again!

Gm. (who still hasn't forgiven the aforementioned for buttin' out
of the Gary Moore Tour at the 11th hour!!!!!)

Greg Bissonette is looking for work now too. Cozy is probably looking
also, but I don't know about him.

Cozy is apparantly very snug with Bleck Sabbath at the moment.

RE: -1

Tony, do ya mean he's left Black Sabbath an' joined Bl'e'ck Sabbath
    ? ;-)

Seriously, it does surprise me that he's still hanging out with
Tony Iommi - I got the distinct impression that both individuals
were guys who liked to have things "their own way", especially
after being in the business for sooooooooo long.

You only have to look at the bands Cozy has been associated with
after leaving Rainbow, and the number of musicians who have passed
through Sabbath in the last 6/7 years.

I still have the impression that after even one incy wincy little
tiff, BS will be recruiting AGAIN!!

Last I heard, Iommi was still using Powell, but I may well be wrong
    (not the first time).

I love old Sabbath, but the new stuff leaves me cold.

741.9Answer perhaps?AYOV18::TMCMANUSMon Nov 20 1989 10:2913
I think the following piece from the current RAW mag holds the answer
to the "who's the famous drummer" question...

    Reproduced without permission :

"..given the fact that Ronnie (J.D.) has ultimately decided to forgive
current incumbent Vinnie Appice for sneaking off to drum on Ex-Dokken
bassist Jeff Pilson's record - which is still without a deal -.."

Seems like Pilson is now back in the market for both drummer and
    label.

...Jeff Pilson is frontin a yet-untitled band and currently
shopping his demo to labels. If things go according to plan,
he should be recording this winter and ready to release an
album in late spring or summer.

    More dirt from Hollyweird...
    ;^)

Chopmeister Darren Housholder has been kicked out of Jeff Pilson's solo
band by the Bassist-turned-frontman himself! Rumor has it that Darren
is quite the a..H... to work with, and Jeff couldn't stand one more day
of Darren's negative/selfish attitude. I'd heard this statement from
fellow guitarists (Darren has a problem with 'competition'), but it's
really sad to hear this came about. Mike Varney "discovered" Darren,
featured him in a Guitar Player spotlight writeup, and eventually was
the man who got him the Pilson gig!! Since Jeff P. and Mike Varney are
best friends, I can only guess that Darren has cemented his fate in
metal obscurity for all eternity! See where a big ego will get you ...
    nowhere!!!

Billy Sheehan once went across the pond to play with Michael. Is
there a note here on him? (afraid to ask!)
