31.0. "Triumph" by USADEC::CLUETT () Fri May 13 1988 11:19

How about a note on one of the mellower but still considered
heavy metalists-- the Underated Canadian Trio--

                     T R I U M P H
Has anyone heard anything recently on topics such as a tour for
their 7 month old album ** Surveillance

These guys have to be one of my favorite all time bands--
I just would like to learn more since they have been in seclusion
    since the album.

They also put on one of the best shows i have ever seen on the
    Sport of Kings tour.]

Any info and comments would be appreciated--

They're probably doing construction work up in the Great White
North. They do carpentry work when they're not on tour or in
the studio, or at least they used too.

Yeah! I didn't pick up surveillance, but I've got most of their
other stuff. Too much thinking....

Lay it on the line.

I gatta agree with ya, I saw the Thunder Seven Tour...
Wicked good show, probably the best concert I've ever been to.
Did anyone else go to that concert??? What did you think of
that acoustic solo??? It blew my mind, I remember what he said before
he started his solo... " This is for all you guys that wish you
    could play guitar."

I'd definately like to here more from them...

I saw them on the Thunder Seven tour too. Great show! The lasers
were really tastefully used and totally unnecessary, since the music
    was fantastic.

Dokken opened up for them...They really played, too! I missed about
1/2 their set due to some unfortunate circumstances, but enjoyed
every minute after finally getting there.

Who was the backup band your show?

ARE they, did they, will they be touring in the US...
    How about a new album.
The last time I heard they were gonna start touring in the US in
The spring of 88. I think their Surveillance album is fantastic.

I need some help. I came back from the States with a Maxell Sample album
that contains different songs by different groups. One is by TRIUMPH
and I've never found it in any album.

    It's : Moonchild / Blind Light Show

It's at least 20' long and it's really awesome.

On the cover they say it's from "Rock'n'Roll Machine" but I checked
on this album and it wasn't on.

It's on my copy of Rock & Roll Machine! Second song on side two.

Rocky Mountain Way has GOT to GO, though)

I've heard it soooooooo many times, the Joe Walsh version mostly, that
I'm totally burned out on it. While I used to like the tune, it just
annoys me now. I can imagine it being a good song in concert though!

31.14Triumph is over as a bandEUCLID::OWENMon Sep 19 1988 14:305
I think Triumph as we know them are gone.
Rick Emmet said in an interview (guitar player?) that they did
survalence only as a contractual thing with the record company.
From the sound of it, don't expect to see triumph ever tour or release
    a album again. Oh well....

That's really sad news. TRIUMPH is one of my top-5 favourite bands.

    Too bad...

I can't work anymore after this, and I gonna go home drink a beer and
listen to my "Allied Forces" on CD.

light shows ever! I've seen them every tour

YEAH!!!!..........They played with FOGHAT at GLENSFALLS,N.Y.
it was their NEVER SURRENDER tour...
i also saw them during their SPORT OF KINGS
TOUR in CLEVELAND with backup BAD COMPANY.....kind of disappointed
with B.COMP. without PAUL ROGERS but TRIUMPH was incredible
with their lazer light show and explosives. did you guys see
the lazer unicorn and seegull flying around....it was wild.

that Reagen qoute at the beginning of TOO MUCH THINKING (i think)
"and let me tell you that is what i said before, a falsehood"
especially considering 5 years later reagen got himself into

I was listening to "Surveillance" in my car, when I understood that one of the

Made me think how some bands could rock with such sense lyrics about important
problems. Triumph was/is one of them.
