1016.10WOODSTOCK II ...ROCK, RAP, & COUNTRY ????3D::MERRIMANMon Jun 27 1994 15:4734

Alright ...so what happened to the other bands that were
supposedly going to be there...such as Van Halen, Guns n Roses,
    	Red Hot chili peppers, ????

Why aren't the hometown heroes (if ya wanna call 'em that
    		...EXTREME..playing the gig?

I can't understand why they have to charge so much for
tix??....And to get a parking space allotted ..you have
    	   to buy 4 tix?.....That's insane!

Also, I want to know what the grunge and hard rocker
audience will be doing when they have to listen to
    	   Johnny Cash?.....Arrested Developement?....Jimmy Cliff?

For the price of these tix....They should have booked
acts which have had several hits....and somewhat in the
same vain...ya know either ROCK or RAP or COUNTRY but
clearly not ALL categories of music in one big mish-mash!
    	   Somethin's gonna give...probably the patience of today's
anxiously awaiting YOUTH!!...YEah bring on WOODSTOCK II
but be wary of the outcome?....Besides as of this morning
they still hadn't sold out of the MANDATORY 4-tix to park
offerings...so they still have plenty of GRASSy SPOTS
    	   available!!!!

I hope it goes over fairly well and without TOO much
difficulties..but I think I'll wait for the MOVIE
It's alot cheaper..and if I choose I can see woodstock II
again & again....and still be GLAD I didn't fork out the
    	    ridiculous FEE!

Personally I think it's a good idea to mix the types
of music. While I may not like rap, there are a lot
of people who do so why should the show cater to just
    	one kind of musical taste?

     re. a few back...

If you remember the first Woodstock then you would also remember that
it was alot of different style of bands/music. Of course, if you
remember the first Woodstock then it means you weren't there.

I find it ironic that this new "Woodstock" is really everything the
first one was against...commercial, mainstream, etc... I mean, please,
atm's, a mini eco city and of course - TICKETMASTERripoff
Oh , and we wouldn't want to pissoff the town hosting it too much so
we'll have the music from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m....guess there will be no
one waking up the crowd with the Star Spangled Banner this time around
(although I'm sure someone will try to copy or do their own version).

Look for lots of police and listen closely for the "moo's" coming from
the attendees as they're herded into the fields...

You're definitely being ripped off. You could probably get a cheapo
flight to the UK and hit Reading's three day extravaganza at the end
    of August for less.

Line up looks good though and the mix in music styles works well.

Did anybody go to Glastonbury at the weekend (if there are any other
    Brits left....)?

    I have a question about "Woodstock 94"....

    is this right???:
You drive to NY, get a parking spot nowhere close to the venue,
then a bus picks you up and takes you to the show. Where do these
people sleep? Can you camp at the show or does a bus take you back to
your car and you camp there?

The bus picks us up in FOXBORO, MASS. Gives us a ride to NY---
to the campsite-- Thats where you camp. . . Then I guess they
have shuttles to the Concert site...and back....something
    	like that....

    >> Gives us a ride to NY---to the campsite-- Thats where you camp. . .
    >> Then I guess they have shuttles to the Concert site

Oh, ok....that's what I meant, shuttles.

While I was at the dead shows out west, flyers were being handed out
with information on caravans traveling to Woodstock II, like what
cities they will be stopping at, what dates, and etc. And I'm guessing
that 70% of the people traveling in the caravans won't have tickets.
That's why I asked about the shuttle buses...looks like there's no way
an automobile will be able to get anywhere close to the venue.

Since tickets are sold in fours, with one parking pass, does this
include camping fee? I guess what I'm asking is if the people running
Woodstock are also running the campgrounds. That would suck paying
$540 for four tickets, and then getting there and having to pay $45.00
more for camping. But then again, there will be a lot of people going
there without parking passes or tickets......

    	It's confusing...

There's "Woodstock 94" that isn't being held at the original
    	Woodstock site.

Then there was this other concert that *was* being held at
the original site but wasn't being *called* Woodstock. This
is the one that got cancelled.

    	Have I got that right?

There were always TWO events, being held the same weekend.

Woodstock 94 -- the "rock" event, being held in Saugerties, NY.

Bethel 94 -- a hippy fest, featuiring more "folk" acts, and more
geared towards the groove of the ORIGINAL Woodstock in 69. This
was to be held on the original site at Max Whatshis face;s farm!

The woodstock people were successful in miring the Bethel concert
in red tape from the start...even took out a lawsuit against them
cuz people kept referring to their concert as a "woodstock reunion"
in press releases and news stories. The Woodstock 94 people own
the rights to the name WOODSTOCK, and were just being pissy about
the Bethel 94 concert, since the woodstock 94 ticket sales have been
    less than spectacular.
