    Yes, about 5 years ago.  It was cool, and it washed out after a few
    weeks or so.  Now it's strawberry-strawberry-blonde, which is what I
    was born with.  Oh, and it's almost waist-length again, too.

    I agree with the long hair rulez thing. In my younger dayz, my hair was
    down to about the middle of my back at it's longest. Then I graduated
    school and had to get it cut. :^( Been bummed ever since.
    I envy you guys that are able to grow your hair long.

    Long hair on men should not matter when looking for job opps  IMHO if
    the place of buisness wants a man to get his haircut before they hire
    him that is sexual discrimination!  After all you don't see women not
    getting jobs because thier hair is long!  Or short for that matter!
    Why is it that men are ONLY "allowed" to have short hair?  When women
    can get away with ethier.  Don't know about you guys out there but it
    sounds like discrimination to me!

    We all agree with him, the real issue is whether or not this
    "principle" is worth sacrificing career opportunities for.

    I meant in general terms.  Of course I agree with him.

    It is an individual choice between some career opportunities and
    a guy keeping his long hair.  It has to do with the way the company
    interprets professionalism I think.  Some companies you see everyone
    dressed in full business suits.  The guys are usually fat and bald and
    the woman are usually sexually harassed in that type of environment.
    Whenever I interviewed I always wore my suit but made sure to look
    around at what other people were wearing, how they talked to one
    another (kidding around talk or totally business).  It's environment.
    I didn't like a totally business environment so I never took any of 
    those jobs.  Now I am a software engineer at DEC with long hair and
    I wear shorts and a t-shirt to work everyday.  That's the kind of
    environment I like.  So in summary ...blah blah blah...

    Yes, it happened.  Suzanne didn't want my hair to reach my belt, so she
    went with me to (in her words) make it a "family" event to go cut hair.
    Then she gave instructions behind my back.
    
    It was getting long enough for me.   I was ready to give it one of
    those curl-perms and have a Coverdale/Whitesnake hair day.
    
    Oh well.   It will grow back quickly.   It's not thinning on top yet,
    so I will probably get to grow it out at least one more time. 
    
    It's about as long as Jeff's now, so maybe we can race....

	I cut of an inch..

    Actually I've heard the term used a number of times.  "You've
    got a little Texas in you".  Usually said to people who wear
    big 10 gallon hats, cowboy boots, and talk with a really bad
    southern drawl (Texas style that is).
