I don't suppose if anyone knows if this is the same Touch that did the
song "Don't You Know What Love Is"? I love that song! They also played
at the first Castle Donnington show back in 1980 with Rainbow/Scorpions/etc.

    Re -1.

Yeah Alan - this album is a re-release of Touch's 1st opus (supposedly
, one of the classic AOR albums of all time) and contains "DYKWLI".

Incidently, if you want to hear what the core of that band are up
to these days, check out the band "Drive She Said". They released
an album not so long ago (89?), which contains, amongst other things,
a blistering, reworked version of "DYKWLI".

The opening guitar blitz should definetly be heard !!

Seems the success of the new-ish record made Music For Nations
dig out the old Touch album.

Touch...? Dave Zimpaglia (now playing for the Fools) use to drum for
a band named, "Touch". Wonder if this is the same band?

Touch? I have that album with DYKWLI? Great stuff. There was also
a blistering song on there called Black Star. I also have the
Castle Donnington album with Touch and Scorpions.
I love it when somebody posts something on an old band that
I though everybody (including me) forgot. BTW a lot of the members
of Touch were previously in a band called American Tears and they
had an album out called Powerhouse. Mark Mangold plays keyboards
in both bands and is the primary writer. I would guess that
he is also in the band "Drive She Said". I know I've seen Mark
Mangold listed in the liner notes of one of my CD's for some
keyboard credits, might have been Heart.

    Yep Boom,

Drive She Said is basically made up of Mark Mangold - Keys ; vocals
                                                          etc
Al Fritsch - Guitar ; vocals
                                                          etc

Aldo Nova also plays some stuff on the album.

..Not an album for die hard HM fans, but it does have its moments..

re: Pete

Naw, there was a local band called Touch, but this is a totally separate band.

re: Touch

Here is the list of songs on the first Touch album:

Don't Ya Know What Love Is?
When The Spirit Moves You
Love Don't Fail Me
Black Star
There's A Light
So High
Last Chance For Love
Yes (You Need Rock 'n Roll)
Listen (Can You Feel It)

"Don't You Know What Love Is" is a killer pop/metal song (long before
pop/metal was even around!). "When The Spirit Moves You" is very Styx-like,
and one of my favorites on the album. And I agree with Boom - "Blac Star"
*cooks*!!!!

This band had killer harmonies that were just awesome!

The members are:

Craig Brooks - Guitars, Lead & backing vocals
Mark Mangold - Keyboards, backing & lead vocals
Doug Howard - Bass, backing & lead vocals
Glen Kithcart - Drums & percussion

I'm pysched that they've released it on CD! Time to find a store that carries
imports and have them order it!

208.6OK, I'll Drive..KBOMFG::TMCMANUSThu Mar 19 1992 06:2413
I picked up the latest album from Drive She Said, the 2 man outfit
formed from the ashes of Touch - and man , "Drivin' Wheel" blew me away.

I would even go as far as saying that IMO it puts the first Touch album
in the shade. The strength of the vocals on this album is immense,
as is the rest of the musicianship with superb soloing on both guitar
    and keys.

These guys really deserve some attention. Excellent songs with
diversity in both sound and style. If Touch or this genre appeals
to you, then you could do far worse than buy this one.

I have the "collection". Well - the incredible TOUCH album, the
previous American Tears, and the first Drive She Said. Based on just
that I'm gonna pick up this new one. Does it have an even
newer version of "Don't You Know (what love is)"?
