1227.0. "Saviour Machine" by AXPLAB::VLASIU (Sorin Vlasiu - Brussels, Belgium) Sat Apr 26 1997 09:08

This topic is dedicated to the californian band Saviour Machine.
I've listened only their latest, Legend (part 1).
It's inspired from the Bible and it's really great symphonic
    progressive metal. Grandiose music !
Classical vocals, classical choirs, hard rock parts.
17 songs in a concept album lasting over 77 mins.
If you like symphonic (and progressive) metal this is a must !
    More later..

    Sorin
PS. Just to avoid confusion .. this is not death metal but progressive
    (christian) metal.

    Re. -1

Yes, I like *the music* on Saviour Machine's "Legend" and *the music* on
RC's "Triarchy of the lost lovers" ;-). The vocals are very different
(almost classical singing versus deathish vocals) but both contain fine
melodies and quality playing. SM's lyrics are not preachy and for RC I
don't have the lyrics (but the song titles do not look offensive).
And if you look to the band members pictures there is no significant
difference (except that SM's singer has his head painted in white and
something sticked on his shaved head) ;-)

The singer of SM has a quite deep voice recalling sometimes the singer
from Iced Earth. The music is quite moody and with fine choral /
orchestral arrangements. There are no instrumental solos but all fits
tight together. At each listening you may discover new details in the
    music. Never very heavy.

Now I have another band to check out....as if I don't have a long
enough list already! I will have to check CDNow for their stuff...

I guess I'll have to send one of the managers mail about getting some
of these bands carried in their store(s).....No match for them and a
    few others.....
