1098.0. "Paradise Lost" by HERON::TIG23::KHAN () Thu Sep 14 1995 07:14

		Hi to all metal lovers,
I've just bought two albums : the lastest Skid Row and Paradise Lost.
Haven't got time to listen to Skid Row but Paradise Lost is surely
great stuff (Draconia Times).
Here in France it has been elated "best album of the year", so what's
your opinion about this. I would like to know how many albums and the story of
this band...
Hope to hear from you soon,
		Bye

It's a bit like a less nervous Almighty with a Hetfield kind
   of voice.
Songs have got great lyrics with tremendous riffs and many slow
cuts, just sounding like a melting pot between Metallica, Dream Theater
   and 'old' Black Sabbath.
Anyone's got the french touring dates?

   See ya,
          shake & RV

PS: Check on Dream Theater (The next BIG thing...)

I haven't heard the latest stuff. But the only one that spread their
name is "Lost Paradise" a masterpiece of DOOM METAL, which is released in
1990 I think. I saw them few times when I was on the road with the band
for 2 weeks European tour with them. I like their stuff but they are
totally a pack of scums and idiot, I don't think if band did tour with
them would do again specially they're wimp out and s'ck now. Last time I
saw them late '93 support Morbid Angel for the North American Tour. They
s'cked and Morbid Angel didn't get along with them from day one of the
    tour.

1098.5Haven't found Draconia Times yet...SUBSYS::MSOUCYFri Sep 15 1995 11:3411

I haven't seen that cd over here. I have Icon(s) and just got Shade of
God which is pretty heavy and I like it! I am not sure if that is their
latest release or not as I haven't squinted enough to read the date on
the cd case. I find it heavier than Icon(s) in most of the songs.
Vocals are also a bit more gravellier (new word?!) that Icon. All in
All I do like this one! I am also getting into the new Shadow Gallery
    and Forbidden!

So why do we have a note that seems to be a combination discussion
of Icon and Skid Row when we have topics for both bands already?

    	The mind boggles.

Does anybody knows about the Paradise Lost Discography. I currently
have the last album : Draconian Days (which is very very great & powerful)
and I know another song which sounds very heavy, I think it's called
    "As I die"...but I don't know the album from...

    	Thanx a lot

    re: RV

I haven't been able to locate that one yet, but I have two others:

    Icon
Shade of God <- Much heavier sounding than Icon but latter is ok too.

I am not sure if they have a self-titled first album either though....

Isn't this the Paradise Lost note?

What are "Icon" and "Shade of God"? Are these albums by Paradise
    	Lost?

    Yup,

Those are the two I have by them. I haven't been able to get Draconia
Time (or is there an n at the end of Draconia?). Shade of God is much
heavier IMO than Icon is. I was surprised! ;-) at this too! I would
like to hear DT by them first though....

	Hi,
I only have DraconiaN Time and I find it a great album : very
heavy (the sound & the voice). If you like this band's previous releases I'm
sure this one will not deceit you (as I read in a Hard Rock Mag).

	Bye
1098.12I got it and like it!SUBSYS::MSOUCYFri Feb 09 1996 09:228

I just got it last night finally at Newbury Comics.....been waiting
like forever for this to show up....it sounds good, more along the
lines of their Icon disc. Decent riffs, vocals are decent too, not near
as heavy as Shades of God.
