1073.0. "Web pointers for music" by GOOEY::JUDY (That's Ms. Bitch to you!) Mon Apr 17 1995 18:02

I didn't want to put this in Mutterings because it
would eventually get deleted.....so I figured what
the heck, I'll start a new note. Worst case, one
of our esteemed mods will move it somewhere.... =)

Interesting Web pointer for those of you who have access
    	to the WWW

anybody looking for anything though, just use infoseek. the thing is
brilliant. plug in 'dream theater' and you get a ton of sites (i
havent tried plugging in dream theatre, you'd probably get a few dozen
    more :'))

AOL has a much better "electronic shopping" deal than CompuServe.

In CompuServe the primary index is a "store". I.E. if you want to
find a CD-ROM drive, you have to visit all the "stores" that (might)
    sell that CD-ROM drive.

In AOL the primary index is the "product". I.E. if you want to find
a CD-ROM drive it gives you a list of who's selling it and for what.

MUCH better and I'm almost thinking of actually paying for AOL just
for that (instead of just letting it drop when I run out of all the
"free 10 hour trial" disks I have). ;-)

The AOL interface is also pretty cool. I also find that they have
more sections of what I'm interested (like most of the major TV
    networks, volleyball, etc.).

1073.23Hey! Check out my page!STRATA::EMCGREWWed Jun 19 1996 21:2719
If you all care to, you can check out my web page at:

    	http://www.webcom.com/evesplum/

The page itself is dedicated to the band Eve's Plum which is an
alternative/punk/pop band not a metal band BUT, my HOTLIST page has
many links to my favorite bands (Metallica, Rage Against the Machine,
Soundgarden, many many more). The page itself sucks right now but will
rock in a week or so.

As far as the links go, they are the best page for each band that I
could find on the net (ie, their own, some maintained/controlled by the
    band themselves such as Metallica).

While you're there, please feel free to fill out my Guestbook page
with your suggestions. The more I get, the better!!

    Thanks and happy surfin'

can move this string there too...I did a dir/title=www, but didn't do a

Man! They show Forbidden Evil and Twisted into Form by Forbidden, Crack
the Sky, Leatherwolf, and several others there that you can't get
anymore via normal channels! I might have to take a chance on the
Forbidden releases, at least Twisted into Form. Hmm, they have a pretty
large collection. One thing I didn't see was an option to purchase
items from us if we were looking to offload some of that older stuff we
are no longer into, etc...do they do this? If they do, they probably
won't pay much and would more than likely do some sort of trade and you
incur shipping. I would be interested in that, if they are reputable
    with this train of thought.

FWIW they are mostly second hand CDs. However I have just had 13
delivered and they are sending me another 10 in a week or so. They
took 4 days registered delivery and were in very goood condition.
To the UK, that was good going.

I have been EMAILing them a lot and Roger and Cassandra who run it
are very nice people to deal with. They are currently searching for
10 or so others for me.
