    I hear that Milli Vanilli are now doing shows under that name.

    From what I've seen & heard, Live is more or less an alternative band.
    They had a song that got quite a bit of airplay a couple of years ago
    and I haven't really heard anything about 'em since. Maybe they have a
    new album/direction now, I donno.

    Current album is Throwing Copper
    and the single from that album is Selling the drama.
    To me they sound like some poor mans REM.
    Throwing Copper is their second album.

    They suck.

    	I've seen this album quite a few times on display at any one
    	of the Strawberries that I visit, and I always thought it
    	was a "live" album from a band called Throwing Copper.

    well i've only heard a couple of songs from them but they sounded
    NOTHING like REM...as far as i can hear.....REM bores me to death and
    there is no known measurement for the tiny amount of time it takes me to
    switch the dial whenever i hear one of REMs songs come on...they get the
    name REM from the deep coma like sleep they induce thus putting you into
    a state where dreams can occur...... and let's not forget that real
    winner of a tune 'stand in the place where you live'........AAGGHHHH..
    BANG!!!!!! ..sorry, but i digress...anyway..i'd still like to know the
    name of the tune that is currently getting the airplay....../k

    	It's called "Selling the Drama". I like the tune.
    	I'd have to hear something else off the CD to see if
    	it would be worth me buying it....

1038.12Seen em (on TV!)STKHLM::STENSTROMStill Crazy After All These Beers...Wed Sep 28 1994 13:184
Hmm.. I saw them on MTV and they sure LOOKED like REM. The singer
was a dead ringer for that Stipe fellow.

    I think "Orange Crush" or whatever it's called is the only REM song I
    can stomach for any length of time.
1038.14REM's not all "shiny happy people"GOES11::HOUSEHow could I have been so blind?Wed Sep 28 1994 14:295
    Karen, all the songs you referenced are recent REM pop-stuff. Most REM
    fans prefer the older albums, which sound completely different then
    that.

    I think it's a great tune!!
1038.19First album?WONDER::REILLYSean / Alpha Servers DTN:223-4375Wed Jun 14 1995 10:407

    Anybody have any info on the first album, "Mental Jewelry" I think its
    called. It came out around '91-ish. I heard a song off of that that
    I liked far better than anything off "Throwing Copper" and I was
    wondering if the debut album was overall heavier than the recent one.
