Conference napalm::heavy_metal

    I think this is the band where the bassplayer/singer is a self
    confessed Satanist.They were playing a series of concerts here in the
    UK and left as they "feared for their lives".Due to one of the band
    getting beat up.The bassist also has an inverted cross on his forehead.

    	Yeah! Glen is the bassplayer/singer.  I think they played in the UK
    during the last 2 weeks of December,90.  That tour Glen called "Anti-
    Christmas tour".  He talks to my friends from Vital Remains alot, almost
    every weekend.  They are playing with Vital Remains around my area some-
    time in April.  Because Vital Remains already booked to play with Morbid
    Angel in March.  By the way that inverted cross is his birthmark.

    Sounds like you are not really into Death metal.  Everyone has their
    own favorite.  Like myself I used to listen to heavy metal, they are 
    good of their music, but now I am more into Death metal.

    No,you've picked me up wrong I don't hate Death Metal....in fact my
    metal likes are really wide (ie faster pussycat to testament to Yngwie
    even)but it's the characters who portray the images I get my kick
    at.The "i got this upside down cross at birth"doesn't really work with
    me,but if they have wrote a few songs that I liked them "hell"yes,I

    metal.  I just meant you not really into Death metal.  I don't know
    if you are fall into any religion or not, I am not.  I got long hair,
    wearing a cross inverted and have all Santanic tattoo on my body, but
    that doesn't mean I kill people and drink their blood.  I just like 
    their music, lyrics and the way they sing.  That's why I am listening

    	I think in UK should have alot of the stores selling Death metal
    stuffs.  Far as I know there are several Death metal bands from UK.
    Huh! I am surprised how did you hear/know more about Deicide, if you
    haven't had access to this stuff?  Anyway, it doesn't matter you have
    heard about any of Death metal bands before.  I am just curious, so
    that way I might know few more Death bands from you.

          there are a few indepandant music stores that sell
    punk/goth/metal stuff but its the fact of buy without hearing songs.
    I mean everybodys opinion is their own adn they should stand up for it
    but getting access to this stuff for me is kind of hard.As for Deicide,
    they have not had a lot of media coverage just what I've read in Rock
    magazines.I'll check around see if I can get my hands on some stuff.

    	You are right, like myself I have to travel at least a good hour
    to find what I am looking for?  On the other hand alot of my friends 
    are in Death Metal bands, that's why I can get Demos.....And I used to
    write to the bands and see them live.
    	If you really mean to look for Death Metal stuff.  I hope pretty

    There was an article in last month's Spin which had some quotes from
    him in it.  He had a kid awhile back and was talking about burning that
    inverted cross in his forehead periodically and wearing a plate over it
    most of the time because it freaks people out (gee, imagine that...).

   	I hung out with Glen Benton, Eric and Brian Hoffman last month at
    Death Fest. in Milwaukee.  His son (Daemon) is getting bigger.  His 
    inverted cross is about 1/4 of an inch deep.  I don't know how deep up 
    to these days?  The show in Milwaukee was awesome, with 29 bloody bands 
    all together.  During Deicide were playing the pit went crazy, one pretty 
    blonde was totally naked in the pit and everyone else felt like they want 
    to blasphemy in that place during Godly Glen on stage.  On the 5th song 
    Glen Benton was starting to throw liver, meat and blood into the pit.  
    But who ever handle that Death Fest. and all of the Staff said that: if 
    Glen throw....then all of the staff will walk out from that place and they 
    will shut the whole show off.  From there the whole band decided to get 
    off the stage.  Because still more than 10 bands haven't played yet.  
    Anyway, on their 2nd album much killer than the first one.

         What do you call "real" metal? Def Leppard?!? You should try
    listening to a Deicide cd before you go off insulting them. But then
    again, you probably couldn't make it through "Kill the Christian" or
    "When Satan Rules His World". 

      I must say that the lyrics that Deicide has are good, if you are into
    sacrificing goats and rapping little girls. Their music however is very
    driving and excellent pit tunes.

    Being educated in music theory and composition, I can honestly say
    deicide has much more to offer, musically, than Def Lep, Ratt, Black
    Crowes, or any of those lack-luster, animal named top 40 pop bands.
    Deicide attempts to portray the dark side of human nature, and does so
    successfully with syncopated drum rhythms, heavy, inverted power
    chords, growling vocals, and songs that start/stop and change on a
    dime.  I challenge any musician to transcribe their music and play it 
    with the ease that Deicide appparently does.

    A game we play at the cottage while in the process of becoming
    intoxicated.  It is an outdoor game with two boards about 15 feet apart
    and a hole in each board (board is on an angle) and you throw 2 1/2
    inch washers an try to get them in the hole.  A very addictive game

    I haven't heard of Deicide.  Most of the death metal bands I like the
    music but I just wish they would shut the f**k up and play their
    instruments instead of making deep un-earthly noises shouting stuff.
    Death metal music I probably don't appreciate the same way as
    apparently some of you do.  I don't listen to death metal usually...I
    think that it's a type of music that has it's own time and place.
    For instance playing Slayer's 'Angel of Death' at a wedding would be
    funny.  
    
    Hey have any of you death metal heads ever heard of 'Crucifer' a band
    from Virginia?  They put out an indy CD a few years back but I don't
    know if they ever became known outside of Stafford, VA ;)

	Doomstone, Black Wind Behide The Mountain.
	The only Crucifer in deathmetal market is the band from Dallas, TX
	They released 1 album on WildRag Records, but they all Mexican orginal
	member.
